Description: What does creative casual cuisine mean? Exactly what it says. We"re creative, because we reject the same-old-same-old in favor of tastes that are interesting and unique. We're casual because while our food may be worth getting dressed up for, we invite you to come as you are. We're all about cuisine in the sense that our chefs apply high standards of culinary art. There it is. Creative. Casual. Cuisine. If it sounds like your kind of place, then you – like us- are not your average Joe.

NYAJ is an excellent place to eat. I recommend the Chicken Oscar which is not on the menu, but is a dish from the old menu. Includes scallops, shrimp, a large chicken breast along with string beans, mushrooms and mashed potato. Chef will accommodate any reasonable request to satisfy any dietary concern. Quantities are generous.

My daughter and I ate here recently -- we got a sausage and pasta dish; and meatloaf. It was very good. The meatloaf had a sweet bbq sauce, which was unusual but very tasty. The portions were ample -- enough for lunch the next day. Although the atmosphere is a bit loud . . . the food is consistently good.

We had a very nice lunch here recently as our first visit. The waitstaff was very attentive and the food was prepared quickly. The free bread and olive oil was superb. The remainder of the meal was fine, although the absolute value of the meal was leaning more towards fair rather than good. All in all, would probably eat there... More

My husband and I just ate here and both our meals were much better than we expected. We have eaten at the NYAJ in Hyannis for quick lunches which were always really good but not dinner. My husband had the meatloaf which he loved, esp. as it reminded him of Shepherd's Pie which he also loves. And he had the... More

We were 7 people for dinner and it all started out really nice. The waitress was friendly, the food was good and it was overall a nice experience... until we ordered coffee. One of us had regular coffee which came right away - but, no milk nor sugar - nor a spoon was delivered - even when we told a... More

So, I wouldn't ordinarily choose this type of restaurant if it's me and a bunch of vegetarians, But, I was visiting my sister and her decidedly non-vegan family and they wanted to take me here. The waitress was very thoughtful and understanding, And, my family thought my vegan, dairy-free, meat-free, grain-free appetizer and salad looked great! I had a vegetarian... More

Also one of our favorite spots in town, they add a monthly-special menu each month with wonderful selections. The bread and cheese/oil dip they serve all tables could be a meal on its own. Their meatloaf is awesome. They have a nice and changing beer/wine menu as well.

Three of us went to NYAJ's last Sunday for lunch. It was not crowded but our server seemed very overworked and not as attentive as she could have been. My husband had a burger, which was overcooked and fries which were soggy. A friend had the steak tips, also overcooked for what she requested. My salad was ok. In all... More
