Great Italian food. The service is excellent and I love the fact that the majority of the servers are Italian. It's the best restaurant in Annapolis and frequented by the "who's who" of Maryland, especially government figures. We met Senator John Astle there. He gave us his stamp of approval of the restaurant. He was quite friendly, charming and distinguished.... More

It has been a while since I had a great food along with a great service. It usually one or the other. Didn't expect much walking down the tourist section of Annapolis, didn't look much from outside. Inside, nice cozy decoration is casual yet bit of uniqueness with glasses and crystals. Waiter was friendly (rare for nice restaurants) and offer... More

Locally caught sea bass was on the menu. Very good but not to rave about. Good service. Nice touch was Spanish guitarist, but you could neither see him or hear much of his music.

Osteria 177 is so good that I'm going to quibble. I had a dish that paired swordfish with prosciutto. Not a great combination as the flavors of each seem to cancel each other out. In the cooking, the meat and the ham became laminated so it was impossible to eat them separately. The good news -- the lemony sauce on... More

The service was incredible and the food was even better! I love fish and pretty much order it at every restaurant I go to and this place has possibly the best salmon I've ever had!

We chose this restaurant because it was within walking distance of the place where we were staying and because it advertised itself as having Mediterranean food. It offered a great variety of dishes with an emphasis on seafood. We started with grilled (not fried) calamari which was outstanding. For our entrees my husband had lamb and I had a marvelous... Went to this restaurant on a whim with a friend. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Everything we ordered was part of the specials which included a split appetizer of seared tuna over greens. Very delicious. Then we got the veal chop stuffed with fresh mozz and prosciutto, and the grouper that was cooked in a phyllo bag Both... More

Food and service both impeccable. Extremely knowledgeable wait staff. Marvelous menu and extensive wine list. Most entrees around $30; worth every penny. Highest recommendation. Something worth knowing/remembering is that Osteria 177 will cover your parking in the nearby garage. Given the craziness of downtown parking, a real plus.

I've gone here many times on my own, wig my family, or with friends. Each time I have had great service and great food. Reservations are a must for parties larger than four but don't fret if you haven't a reservation as the bartender is the best in Annapolis. Simply tell him your favorite drink or liquor and be prepared... More
