On a Sunday night the dining room was half full, but the distances between tables suggested that it would have been quiet and relaxed even if crowded. Our Russian waiter, who had acquired some Italian mannerisms, watched over us with fastidious professionalism after advising us that the Sunday special was 1/2 price on any wine under $100 and offering to... I am giving Osteria 177 the benefit of the doubt that because we had dinner on a Monday evening that is why the place was empty and for no other reason. The waitstaff could not have been nicer and our waiter was from Italy--a plus for authenticity. Food was pretty good. Especially a salmon pastrami starter. Sounds odd but was... More

Although this was my first visit, the other couple were regulars. A lot depends on the server at every restaurant and we had a great server. One of our guests wanted a stuffed veal chop, not on the menue. They accomodated the request . My main dish was fabulous, and I rarely use the word.My wofe also had a great... More

Great Italian food. The service is excellent and I love the fact that the majority of the servers are Italian. It's the best restaurant in Annapolis and frequented by the "who's who" of Maryland, especially government figures. We met Senator John Astle there. He gave us his stamp of approval of the restaurant. He was quite friendly, charming and distinguished.... More

It has been a while since I had a great food along with a great service. It usually one or the other. Didn't expect much walking down the tourist section of Annapolis, didn't look much from outside. Inside, nice cozy decoration is casual yet bit of uniqueness with glasses and crystals. Waiter was friendly (rare for nice restaurants) and offer... More

Locally caught sea bass was on the menu. Very good but not to rave about. Good service. Nice touch was Spanish guitarist, but you could neither see him or hear much of his music.

Osteria 177 is so good that I'm going to quibble. I had a dish that paired swordfish with prosciutto. Not a great combination as the flavors of each seem to cancel each other out. In the cooking, the meat and the ham became laminated so it was impossible to eat them separately. The good news -- the lemony sauce on... More

We ate at Osteria during a weekend trip to Annapolis. The food was amazing and the service was excellent.
