We were just passing through Annapolis visiting a friend and looking to do dinner without a lot of complication. As much as we love Annapolis the downtown area can be a parking nightmare. So on a recommendation we walked into The Main Ingredient, an unassuming looking restaurant in a strip mall near our friends' house. We were totally knocked out!... More

After a political fundraiser in the Eastport section of Annapolis last week, my husband and I dined at the Main Ingredient, a favorite spot for locals on almost any night of the week. It's also highly popular for Sunday brunch. Known for its delicious desserts, home-baked breads and off-site catering, Main Ingredient often adds a pumpkin muffin or mini-baked morsel... More

We enjoyed a delicious brunch at the local restaurant in Feb. The eggs Benedict, kitchen sink omelet and pancakes were delicious. Real Maple syrup was served with the pancakes. The biscuit was light, fluffy and hot. A wonderful meal and very enjoyable experience.

Very unassuming from the outside but this gem has outstanding, innovative dishes. We have had breakfast, lunch and dinner here and never been disappointed. Also has a bakery and a catering side the wins awards regularly. Last visit we had the Thai Chicken Quesadilla & Nantucket Chicken Salad wrap which were terrific. Also, tried various cupcakes for the wedding cake... More

We stopped in on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was almost full of diners, always a good sign. He appetizers were delicious, fried oysters. Then came the main ingredient. Diver scallops, Meatloaf covered with their famous mushroom soup and more Scallops. Let's not forget the desserts, Chocolate Cake and Peach Cake. You can't go wrong with anything on the... More

I had lunch with friends today at the Main Ingredient. The staff were attentive and courteous. I had the apple ginger salad with grilled chicken. It was very tasty and a good portion size. It was hard to choose between the salad and their grilled cheese sandwich (someone at the next table had ordered that). If you're visiting downtown Annapolis... More

A jewel of a restaurant in Eastport. One of those rare restaurants where everything on the menu is high quality and consistently good. Ever more rare, the prices are reasonable. On top of that the management and staff are very friendly. My parents loved their lunches of grill cheese, soup and sweet potato fries. Hungarian mushroom is incredible. Breakfast is... More

The food here is great! We've been here many times for breakfast and lunch. They offer traditional comfort food with a twist. Creative Eggs Benedicts and sandwiches which are so delicious. The soups and pasta salads are really tasty too. And the desserts are absolutely amazing too, save room for dessert or take some to go, you won't regret it!!... More

This is a very good local Annapolis spot. In a small shopping strip and often crowded for breakfast, but usually easy to find a table at dinner. Food is very good, well prepared, but rich, more calories than you might expect. Fish and scallop entrees consistently good. Specials are worth checking, some weeknights dinner for two is less than $30,... More
