We were wandering along looking for somewhere to eat and came upon Tsunami and had a delightful meal there. Would definitely visit again.
We had a really weird experience here. We have NEVER had a bad meal anywhere in Annapolis but there is a first time for everything. The place smelled yucky. The server was really odd and kind of nasty to our very well behaved 6 year old. When the yucky sushi arrived we decided to pay and leave. I don't recommend.... More
Pretty much everything on the menu is good, including the cocktails. The service is typical Annapolis friendly. The music can be loud, late night. If you know you don't like that sort of thing, don't set yourself and them up for failure. I recommend the fried tofu w/ fish flakes. They have a half-price wine night and a good happy... More
I sat at the bar... Very friendly staff... The roll I had was in a good size as well as the Sashimi pieces... the quality of the food was good and I would definitely go back there if I am visiting the area
I enjoy the carry-out rather than dining-in but either way, the sushi is always fresh and delicious. I have been to the restaurant several times to dine in but I find that the music is too loud and in certain areas, it is too dark to even see the menus. Other than the noise and lighting levels, the service has... More
I would call this place a "Pretender" -- they pretend they are trendy and know how to make sushi and other Japanese/Asian dishes, but the food was all quite mediocre if not downright terrible. Four of us recently went for lunch and if the lunch menu is any indication of the night menu, don't bother going for dinner. It looked... More
Don't let the hipster grunge decor throw you, this place has great food. Try the sushi, chicken and waffles and the short ribs. The steaks were only average, but all other entrees ordered by my group were great.
Be prepared to be served non-traditional sushi. Most of it is slathered in some kind of mayonnaise, which is horrible. I simply scraped it off. The place is viable for sushi but is trying way too hard. It's trying to look trendy and cool but it doesn't pull it off and the service is only middling.
Tsunami is a cool place. The music is loud and the lighting is low, so it's not the best restaurant for table conversation. We ordered some sake, a few different rolls, and a pork dumpling appetizer. Overall, the food was good, but I think you can find better sushi and better value at Nano's or Joss's. Service was great. Our... More
We hadn't been to Tsunami in several years. We stumbled in w/o reservations and were greeted by a lovely hostess. There were no tables but we accepted a cocktail table. About 15 min in, the hostess told us a party didn't show up and we could be seated at that table if we wished. Our waiter was just as accommodating,... More
