Not only were there a lot of gluten-free options, but it is also one of the most popular and acclaimed sushi joints in Annapolis. Great atmosphere, professional staff, and beautiful presentation of the food.

My husband, my son and I had lunch here last week. What a wonderful experience. It was a sunny day so we ate under a patio umbrella on the porch behind the restaurant. My son and I both had a combination sushi/California roll plate ( one of the lunch special). It was fresh, nicely plated, substantial and delicious. My husband,...

We've been coming here since the middle 90s and it has never failed to be up to our standards. Great fresh fish, friendly service and the tuna carpaccio salad is the best around.
We love Joss. It is the default restaurant when we just don't know where to go. We never have had a bad experience in over 50 times eating here. Need I say more. The Saturday lunch menu is a great deal.
The restaurant from the outside look unassuming but once you are in the door the place really opens up. My wife and I originally had reservations at a very nice seafood restaurant but decided we wanted some less stiff and great sushi. This location does not take reservations but the staff do a excellent job of getting everyone seated quickly...

I've become a regular at Joss over the past ten years, and for good reason ... top-notch sushi made with the freshest fish around. Joss does the basics very well indeed, which is important in these days of ridiculously varied maki rolls (rainbow roll, anyone?). If you can't do a good tekka maki, you might as well close up shop....

I dined at Joss on a Saturday night in early March 2013.
First, the good and bad news: the place is crowded and you will likely have to wait if you get there past 6:00. That’s good because the food is great, that’s bad because who likes to wait? There are no reservations. My party of three were told it...

We went in for an early dinner. Our waitress was very nice. I ordered a salad, the dressing was terrible- so strong I couldn't eat any of the salad!
I put it aside and was thinking of telling the waitress. She came over to ask if I was finished, so I told her it was too strong and I couldn't...

Joss is THE place in Annapolis for great, fresh sushi. Even our two teen daughters go their regularly with their friends. The recently expanded, which should have helped with the wait (but I don't think it did!). The new part is really nice, but I'm a little nostalgic about the original footprint. Time your visit well, be patient, and you'll...

We frequent Joss for lunch and dinner every opportunity we have. For the past 7 years we have enjoyed various sushi dishes without any disappointment. The service is quick and cordial. If you're expecting a quiet, romantic dinner with your significant other, Joss may not be quiet and cozy enough for you as it closely resembles sushi restaurants of Japan....
