Found a review of this restaurant in Zagats and Trip Adviser and decided to give it a try. I arrived on a Wednesday for lunch with my wife, three kids and inlaws. Not everyone was a crab eater but all found items that left them satisfied. I was worried about crowds and a long wait but our mid-week arrival worked... more
Didn't mind the 60 minute wait, we managed to find some shade. We opted for dining outside. You have to be on the thin side, because they pack the tables and benches in. It was like that inside and out. We ordered extra large crabs (at 75 a dozen) and were quite sure we were served larges. Needless to say... more
We went out of our way to go to this restaurant. The crabs were way overpriced and they weren't even cleaned, average size. I've had same size in NJ. The crabcakes were filled with shells and they were not enjoyable crunching on the shells. I have had much better elsewhere. more
It takes a little time to find, but it is worth it. We went on the 4th of July and had a great time. Very good, hard to find, not a local's only place anymore and way overpriced but still fun and great seafood. more

Inside and outside seating along the river. We went early because I had heard that this place gets crowded. On a weekday we got there just... more
Cantler's has been in most every guide book and in every travel show dealing with the Chesapeake Bay, so although it looks like an out of the way crab shack, it is a famous place as evidenced by the line of stopped cars that snake their way thru the residential neighborhood to wait for a place to park. The only... more
I recently took my inlaws to this restaurant because they are out of towners and wanted to eat crabs while in MD. We ordered the xtra large crabs for $75 a dozen and they were the heaviest, meatiest, tastiest crabs I have had in years! We ordered two dozen for four adults and two children and it was plenty for... more
If you go in the summer time, expect to sit idling in your car at the end of a residential neighborhood, waiting for a parking spot in a limited lot. Then expect to wait for a table, inside or out. The service is average, as it the food. We took some friends who were moving back to California as a... more
