My husband and I were visiting friends in Columbia, MD and they brought us to Chick and Ruth's for breakfast. Here's all you need to know: You will most likely have to wait if you are a party over 2...the waiting takes place outside the restaurant, as there is no room inside to wait to be seated. If it is... Only eat there if you like to have an experience, not just a meal. It will more than likely be chaotic, filled with noise, and crowded--you may even have to share your booth. But if you know that going into your visit, it may help prepare you. Also be prepared for an extensive menu, being treated like family (casual, friendly)... More

I visited Chick and Ruth's just because of the Man vs. Food challenge (not that I was brave enough to try it) with some friends (who tried and failed). The food is great (I had the Reuben, which was awesome), and the milkshakes are pretty killer too. Great service, friendly staff and a quirky atmosphere you'd be hard-pushed to find... More

It's been there forever and their food speaks for itself. If you have never had real crab cakes, you have to check them out! In Southern California I have never been treated to anything that resembled the type of crab cake I had here. Big chunks of crab...It was exceptional. My kids loved the sandwiches they had too. I was... More

We like diners- this eatery is referred to as a Delly. Breakfast, lunch, dinner- catering- an amazing amount of meals fly out of this hub on Main St. We went in for breakfast mid week. The menu was full of traditional fare and also local specials like eggs Benedict with crab cake topping. Highly recommend a visit.

A group of us stopped in for a quick lunch while in Annapolis for a business meeting. The place is definitely the hot spot for lunch and you will not be disappointed. I had soup and crab cake sandwich and it was the best one I had while in the area. Definably recommended.

This place is anything but fancy. It is cramped, noisy and all they do is serve great food. It is located in the busy downtown Annapolis area. The menu looks like a diner and deli combined but that is where the similarity ends. The portions are great. Lots of variety, including a full breakfast lunch and dinner menu. What a... More

I ate lunch here at about 1pm on a Thursday in April and it was pretty crowded. I would not wait to eat here in the summer. I got to eat next to the Governor's table here but Gov. O'Malley wasn't dining. This place being so close to the Maryland State House has had just about every politician in Annapolis... More

Don't miss this place if you are in annapolis. This is one of the best known spots on main street. Great sanwiches named after politicians but best of all is breakfast

It was a slow Monday morning in April. The legislature was not in session, there were few tourists so we got a table right away. We sat by the front window. When the waitress came she apologized, "How long have you been waiting? I didn't see anyone up here." But it had really only been a couple of minutes before... More
