Innovative and creative take on southern comfort food. We went for breakfast and were not disappointed. "Get the grits" includes blackened shrimp or blackened salmon...beautifully presented and delicious. "Chicken and waffles" includes 3 crusted fried boneless chicken breasts and savory green onion waffles. I expected more onion flavor, but it was excellent. Maybe pricey for some, but nice experience. I've heard great things about Miss Shirley's over the last year or so from friends and I finally had a chance to go. I was not disappointed. The service was great, and the food was delicious. We shared a fried devil egg starter because it sounded to interesting to pass up. I'm glad we didn't they were so tasty we... More

The grits are unusual in that they are served in a scooped mound. They are very tasty. The biscuits were better at home after being warmed. The pimiento cheese was so spicy that it needed to be combined with something more bland to make it palatable. I didn't opt for the $27 crab Benedict breakfast. I think that's a bit... More

We had incredible eggs Benedict, unlike anything else I've ever had...instead of english muffins, the crab cakes sat on a fried green tomato slice...just the right amount of spice.

My family and I love Ms. Shirley's Cafe. We visit often and have never been disappointed. Service: Waiters are always very nice, with the exception of the Baltimore location *see below. The wait is loooong, so get there early or be ready to wait. Our wait times range from 20 mins to 1 hr. Food: The food here is delicious... More

Miss Shirley's was a must-see stop for us on the way out of town following a winter weekend getaway in Annapolis. Our Saturday breakfast lived up to the restaurant's many positive reviews – in terms of an impressive and upscale breakfast menu, good food and excellent service. But with the rave reviews and popularity also came a high price for... More

Let's just say that the only downsides to this place are the facts that it closes at 3 PM (it's marketed as a brunch restaurant), that you can't make a reservation, there are only 3 of them (all in the Baltimore/Annapolis area), & the 30-45 minute wait that you're inevitably going to have to sit back (if you can find... A more adventurous breakfast menu than most places. Very well executed. Not inexpensive, but worth the price. Spacious atmosphere, a few sidewalk tables, too. Close the to Westin, not near the waterfront. Don't park at the Westin -- save your $10 for breakfast, and park on a side street. Pleasant staff. Quick enough, and a good place for a pre-business... Funky Monkey bread is a must!! Rather large so you either take it home or you need at least 4 very hungry people. The hash browns are very tasty, service is kind and quick, I will surely go again!
