I know this is not homemade ice cream - but it is right near the dock and convenient. Ice cream portions are reasonable - love Mocha Almost Fudge. Ice cream is always consistent.

The servers are friendly even when lines are long, and the portions are reasonable. However, the ice cream is cheap gas station quality Turkey Hill, with diglycerides, hydrogenated oils, and corn syrup. They call their store on the waterfront an "ice cream factory", but really their ice cream arrives on trucks from a factory far away.

This is a terrific ice cream spot on those hot afternoons while downtown at Ego Alley! Be prepared for a line, but it's worth the wait.

One of my favorite past times is eating ice cream at one of my favorite places to take my child and dog, Chowder. It is well worth the wait and they give you goo-gobs of ice cream (don't forget the TUMS).

We were eating next door and saw the steady stream of people in an out and my daughter wanted us to get ice cream. So we went. It gives you the appearance that they make their own ice cream. At over $4 a cone for a double scoop it should be homemade. It is not. I was told by an... More

The line was outside and blocking several business fronts. many flavors to choose from. no credit cards, strictly cash, keeps the line moving.

rude staff, no organization. I should have recalled the previous time we stopped here and received rude staff. After waiting patiently and being passed over by 4 other customers, it was another customer who acknowledged that we were still waiting. I ordered three ice cream items, and while the third was being prepped I paid for our orders. As we... More

I remember coming here as a child and young adult for amazing fresh made ice cream- it was a great East Coast ice cream shop. The previous reviewer is correct that they are now serving Turkey Hill. Not sure when this changed occurred- sometime in the last 5 years- but for those of us that remember the old Storm Bros,... More

My family has been stopping here for decades because it is so conveniently located in the dock area, but it's certainly nothing special. A few years back,we happened to be there when they were changing ice cream tubs. That's when I noticed that it was Turkey Hill ice cream they were serving! Anyone from Pennsylvania knows that Turkey Hill is... More

I came here after a disappointing buy at another ice cream shop. This place was packed but the line moved quickly. We ended up getting a variety of flavors as well as two soft serve cones. The ice cream was smooth and creamy. And the people behind the counter were super friendly even though they were so swamped.
