We tried the Red Barn again a couple of weeks ago, hoping that it would be better than we remembered. They are very active in the community and we thought they deserved another try. We had a chicken basket and a hamburger,. Both were OK. The fries are tasteless and boring. It's a good enough place to eat if you're... More

This place has the best chowder. It is packed with seafood and lobster. The flavor is amazing and its not overly creamy like a lot of others, it's more of a seafood broth with a perfect consistency. You can buy it in pints and quarts to go too. The Red Barn seems to do a lot in the community in... More

The best lobsta' roll in town! Called ahead for my order. Had to navigate my way through the line at the counter to pick up but they had it all packed and ready to go!

I realize fresh seafood is not cheap, but the prices here seem high to me. The food is very good. Atmosphere is ok. Service was good. This place does an incredible amount of business though. Every single time I go there is a line and few parking spots.

Nothing fancy here- and the prices aren't fancy either. The Red Barn opened in 1977 and I don't know that much has changed since then- so eating here is like stepping back in time a bit. It isn't about the impressing people with the setting etc. There is an area with picnic tables where dogs are welcome, take-out is also... More

It was my first visit to Maine. Our base camp was a rental house in Bootbay Harbor. We set off exploriong this beautidful state every day. On our trip to see Augusta, I was reading about the Red Barn Diner & we decided to try it out.. After eating at the lackluster restaurants around Boothbay Harbor, we needed a change... More

First time ever to the Red Barn. The wait staff was outstanding polite and helpful. Instantly felt at home. The service was fast not fancy. The seafood chowder was the best I had ever had! The mix of fish and the chunks of whole lobster claws just perfect. I would order that chowder just for the broth alone. It was... More
