The Red Barn knows how to make a seafood chowder. Chockful of lobster and other goodies this was a highlight of my trip to Maine. Was just driving through Augusta on my way south and decided to stop here. Knew it had to be good based on the crowds but the waiting time to order and get food was sooo... More

This was a fun stop for my road tripping family. Giant piles of good food (had the clam strips, the lobster roll and the kids had chicken) ate everything. Had a live band outside. I found the price to be right for the amount we got. Would swing by here again!

The variety of food on the menu is great. They even have chicken and burgers for those who don't eat seafood. Portion sizes are great and it was very fast service. Even though they seem to always be so busy, they are fast at getting the food out to you. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars... More

The menu is extensive, and despite the crowds, the food was brought to the counter very quickly. The haddock and chicken are delicious, as well as the french fries and mozzarella sticks. We also loved their ice cream and whoopie pies! They have an extensive selection of soft drinks too. We will definitely come back on our next visit to... More

I born and grew up in Maine. I know Maine well. I miss Maine, and sadley will not call it my full time home again. I now have a little girl, she has a very bad heart, her doctors are in Indiana, (Fort Wayne) so that keeps me in Fort Wayne....Althought I will always and forever be a Mainer, and... More

We stopped at the Red Barn on our way home from northern Maine. It was a quick, inexpensive, but tasty lunch. I had a grilled haddock sandwich, my wife a grilled chicken sandwich, and by daughter a BLT. All were hearty and tasty, the BLT had gobs of grilled bacon. We also split an order of fried clams.

Very casual atmosphere - counter service - great food! I had to come here on my Maine vacation to have the fried native Maine shrimp - so good! Also had some delicious crispy onion rings. Family enjoyed lobster rolls.

We love the red barn, we live about 2 miles away and visit weekly, the seafood is freshest around, speed of orders are top notch, and value is excellent.

We only get to Maine once a year, usually during the summer months. Without fail our first stop is the Red Barn in Augusta to enjoy their seafood stew, fried shrimp and chicken, onion rings, and clams! Yum! Service is fast and friendly with seating inside or out. I wish we had a Red Barn here in SC! See you... More

I live in Pennsylvania but whenever i am in central Maine i make a point of stopping at the Red Barn! I had my first meal there in the early 1980's and am still a satisfied customer! The Benedict family and their crew are very devoted to their customers and their community and serve "wicked good" food-it doesn't get any... More
