We stayed overnight in Augusta on our way to Belfast, and used TA to find a place to eat. Barbeque in Maine seemed like a gamble, but we weren't disappointed.we shared a salad and the full ribs platter which cames with a large piece of cornbread and two sides (we had french fries and barbeque beans). Everything was terrific and... More

We've frequented this restaurant ever since it originally opened a number of years ago when two brothers began the business under Beale Street BBQ. Several years ago, the brothers separated as partners and entered into their own business arrangements, and we've had occasion to visit both establishments in different parts of the state. Today, my wife and I decided to... More

We only make it to this restaurant once a year in the summer, but it's worth the trip. We're big fans of the burrito with brisket and the smoked chicken quesadillas. The Jerk chicken is outstanding, but only try it if you like seriously hot food!

Stopped here today for lunch, while passing through Augusta. The restaurant is in an old historic building in the downtown area. There is free 2 hour parking in a nearby parking lot. I ordered fresh squeezed lemonade, which was tasty. The hush puppies were quite good and they were served with a mustard sauce. The BBQ beans were very good,... More

Have lived in Augusta almost 2 years, and have wanted to try, ribs where good, rest of food so so, very pricy, 2.50 for pcs of corn bread, it was good, but? Wait staff was very scattered, not a big place at all, but after we where seated took 1/2 hour to get waited on, looks like others have had... More

Last think one expects on a trip to Maine is excellent BBQ. And this is what Riverfront serve: absolutely perfectcly smoked side ribs that come of the bone clean, have a gigantic bold smoke flavour and an impressive smoke ring. Coleslaw is also excellent as are the beans. Their dry rub is probably the secret (or the absence of a... More

I love barbecue and this local place really impressed me on the first visit. They play the blues, the meat was tender, moist and tasty...totally loved it. Then the next visit the meat was more dry, there were a lot more people in the room which, due to not having anything to absorb sound, made it quite loud with just... More

We eat here often, but last night was to die for. THE summer salad....with strawberries, mandarin oranges, goat cheese, slivered almonds, etc...was great as was the strawberry shortcake. Best we've ever had. Fried, crispy corn bread with cinnamon, strawberries, fresh whipped cream. YUM. It's seasonal so get down there fast!

We have been to Riverfront BBQ three times over the past two years. Have found the food to be consistently good. Not the best 'que we have ever had, but above average. They typically have some good specials, although our server neglected to mention them until prompted by us. Menu has a good variety of items, even for someone adverse... More

Our group of 7 was welcomed, and a table to accommodate all of us was immediately put together. The menu had a vast selection of barbecue and non-barbecue offerings. We all were in the mood for barbecue: 2 couples ordered appetizers and loved them. For the main meal, 2 couples split the BBQ sampler, 2 people ordered the combo of... More
