My husband and I travel to Auburn/Lewiston to visit family almost yearly from Texas. Last year it was recommended that I try breakfast at Center Street Café. We will never go anywhere but there now! Their corned beef hash was the best I've ever tasted as was the homemade breads, muffins, etc. Very friendly and courteous waitstaff. It appears that... More

First time to the Cafe.Started really nice. Our Waitress was freindly and had a personally. This review is basicly about what happend in the kitchen. After a fair wait our Waitress comes out with a partial order. Mixed Berry Waffle and a side of ham for myself. She also had a side plate of bacon for my wife, but without... More

This place has an amazing selection of pancakes and egg scrambles, pesto scramble is my favorite. The apple toast is wonderful, as is their flavored coffee. My four year old son begs me to go here every weekend.

Small place, food is decent but a abit overpriced and small portions. Friendly Waitstaff. Overall it's average.

We live near Auburn and come up several times a week for grocery shopping, automotive, doctor visits, and all manner of errands. Until our car repair guy told us about the Center Street Cafe, we'd drag ourselves to Denny's when we needed to be in Auburn early in the day. Now we get wholesome, delicious food in manageable portions, served... More

If by "down-home" you mean cold bacon that was fried to a crisp yesterday and just okay coffee, then this might be for you. Yes, the staff is friendly, the service is good, and it is clearly a place where friends and neighbors gather, but the food is not very good. Compared to other cafes we have eaten in in... More

If you're looking for a typical down-home breakfast, this is the place. Ate here for the 2nd or 3rd time last week while passing through town. We had pancakes, coffee, etc. - really hit the spot. Friendly service. Crowded with regulars (and a few non-regulars like us). Testament to its popularity. If you're looking for the chain (Denny's, etc.) experience,... More

Breakfast, Brunch, or Lunch . . . I'll meet you there! Pesto scramble is my favorite with their tasty freshly baked apple bread. A steady regular, I enjoy sharing with family, friends, and business-related meal-times. Really enjoy the atmosphere, being greeted by Sally, owner and daughter Dawn each taking such care in serving us yummily well.

Yummy French toast on the road, good start to a skiing day. Fresh bread locally baked. Coffee was mediocre (our standards are very high when it comes to coffee ...). Service was great, quick and personal.

My first time here and it'll be my last. I don't even know how to describe the food I ate. It was called the Benedict Pile-up. You guessed it. It was a pile of uncooked french fries with poached eggs and ham on top. So then I decided that I'd give something else a try since the Benny Pile-up wasn't... More
