we get there early so we can go outside and have a big table, since we are there for a few hours, we make sure we take good care of our wait staff

They had a decent selection of their own beers as well as local beers, but their food was just average. The BBQ fries were good, but I don't see why they add sugar to their sweet potato fries. Nothing was bad, but nothing to make me come back either.

Gritty's is close to the Hampton Inn and the river walking path. It has a nice, comfortable pub-like feel and is very popular on friday night. We had a burger and a salad. Both were OK--nothing special.

We went on a Sunday night, with another couple that we dine out with often. It's simple pub fare no more no less. But I will say this was my second visit and again the beer was not overly cold, and a bar has to be penalized for not serving cold beer. Also the target audience seems to be the... More

Great food, casual atmosphere. We had burgers, pizza and a great veggie sandwich. Friendly service. Good prices. What more do you need!

Gritty's is always crowded...which is great for the owners, but not so great for the customers. Jackets are all hung on a wall and mine was almost stolen once. This is due to the fact that it is bench seating, no actual chairs. I don't particularly like sitting at a long table with people I don't know... The food is... More

I was visiting L/A East, craving a Reuben. Checked Gritty's online menu and Voila! They make it with corned beef vs pastrami and it was very tasty. I ordered sweet potato fries and their homemade cole slaw. Fries were cool and dry. She brought fresh cooked, but they were too heavily dusted with sugar. We also ordered chicken pot pie,... More
