The Bread Shack is a great place to visit for coffee and one of their delicious fresh scones in the morning. Casual and comfortable so you can relax and enjoy the AM!

Stopped by to pick up some bread on our way up further north. The bakery has quite a wide variety of freshly baked items, and we selected three different types of bread -- all were excellent. The pretzel baguette (I don't recall exactly what they called it) was particularly good. This bakery is well worth the short detour!

We were driving Down East to stay with family and wanted to pick up some fresh bakery bread for our hosts. From the earlier TA reviews, the Bread Shack looked promising, so we decided to stop there. So glad that we did. Very authentic baguettes and other savory bakery products (sweets too but we did not try any). Would definitely... More

European style cafe with oh so delicious treats, especially the ginger scones and artisan loaves of bread. Excellent coffee. Internet access. Seating is very limited (3 tables). If you are looking for a rich, satisfying bread, rolls, pastries, breakfast or lunch you have to give this place a try. My recent breakfast sandwich was the special of the day -... More

I never miss a trip to this cozy spot when I am in the area. Excellent tasty pastries, wonderfully creative breads, hot fresh coffee. Sit down and enjoy the flavors, smells and warmth of this French pastry shop.

I go here often and there is always something that impresses me. The other day it was the French macaroons I purchased a doz as a gift. They are a nice size, just a couple of bites and went nicely with the lovely latte served in a bowl. I'm headed back today for a hot cross bun.

We found this little gem of a bakery two years ago and make it a point to stop in whenever we travel to Maine. They have the best almond and chocolate croissants we have found and terrific fresh baked bread. We stop in for a latte and sweet treat before we head out to explore the Maine country side. Wish... I've lived in Paris, I've had lunch at the Fat Duck and Bouchon, and the sandwich I had at The Bread Shack was among the best I've ever had. Anywhere. The wife and I were passing through Maine and our only regret was not stocking up more before heading home. You guys seriously need to open up a branch in... More

As I sat in this lovely Parisian like bakery I was impressed by a common response of folks entering the bakery, "oh, it smells so good in here!". Indeed, not only does it smell good, the pastries were amazing. I started with an almond croissant and a latte. Each was a work of art. The croissant lightly dusted with powder... More
