If you like oysters prepared in many ways, shrimp fried , fish blackened and many seafood dishes from first class Cajun cooking this is the place.

This place is a MUST if you like good seafood. I was with a group and we tried many things - all of them good. We had the oyster sampler, which included four different toppings. The oysters were fresh and delicious. In fact, you can go back and watch them clean them at the back of the restaurant. We also... More

Some of the best grilled oysters we ate on a week-long trip through Louisiana. Especially noteworthy are the oysters chargrilled with their own "Sassy Sauce," made of Steen's Cane Syrup (from Abbeville).

We had a great dining experience at Shucks! The oysters, crab claws, and Flounder were perfect! Our waitress did an outstanding job and the owner checked our table three times while we were there! Too bad we live in a Arkansas or we would probably eat there three nights a week!

I'm not a sea 'foodie' but my wife is and this place was recommended by the lady that we were staying with. We arrived a bit earlier than most as it busied up later. Lovely food (there are non fishy alternatives including gator), great service and the manager took some time out to come and talk with us. Very popular... More

The oysters in the sugar cane pepper glaze and the bread pudding are the most wonderful things!!! The Cane Break beer was nice and cold, so it rates a mention, but the oysters were amazing. And the bread pudding, complete with a delicious rum sauce, is worth the calories. We also had the other oysters on the sampler plate and... More

We eat out a lot, I MEAN A LOT. What is so great about Shuck's? It was not bad, but it was not better than any of the restaurants in Lafayette, or Maurice. We passed several places that are as good or better during our trip from Lafayette to Abbeville. I will say that our server was FANTASTIC but you... More

First time I was here we were celebrating with the family. The tv was on and the news broke in and announced Tiger Woods wrecked his escalade into a fire hydrant! I'll never forget it. And I'll never forget the food and service. Every time since has been great. Keep up the great work!

The food was good we ate here as we are from the Midwest and wanted to experience the local food. Large... More

If you are in the Lafayette area, I would urge you to travel to Abbeville and stop off at this restaurant. My husband and I visited yesterday and we were lucky enough to meet one of the partners Bert. He runs such a great place, looks after his locals and takes a real interest in sharing his menu with visitors.... More
