With a name like Shucks, you know oysters are on the menu. I will admit I had mine grilled, rather raw. However, they could not have been better. The shrimp and grilled catfish were wonderful, as well.

Large succulent lightly battered shrimp were delicious. Save room for the bread pudding. It is unusually good. Sides are limited and lack the home cooked factor.

Schucks is one of our favorite restaurants in the area and we have been customers since they opened. A few years ago they changed the fried shrimp recipe but we adjusted. We went last Thursday night and I had my usual half fried shrimp and oysters. The oysters were so salty that we couldn't eat them. Left them on the... More

We were told not to miss this place, and we were told right. Go early or wait, but it's well worth it. Great seafood, service, friendly management. Don't miss it!

I have been to this restaurant quite a few times because my inlaws love raw oysters. If you enjoy oysters, it is the place to be. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful!

This place is a MUST if you like good seafood. I was with a group and we tried many things - all of them good. We had the oyster sampler, which included four different toppings. The oysters were fresh and delicious. In fact, you can go back and watch them clean them at the back of the restaurant. We also... More

Some of the best grilled oysters we ate on a week-long trip through Louisiana. Especially noteworthy are the oysters chargrilled with their own "Sassy Sauce," made of Steen's Cane Syrup (from Abbeville).
