Beautiful Italian Restaurant to eat in a warm ambiance

If you want to have a romantic atmosphere with a variety of soups, and choices, this is the place for Italian. Not too expensive, but with valet parking, and pretty atmosphere. They manage to please me since I wanted something different from the menu. The people are really nice.

I've been visiting Panama City on October and meet up with old friend,so we decide to go out to have a few drinks and a good meal. After all, a good Italian restaurant was a choice that we make. Asking around for a good Italian restaurant all directions pointing to tre scalini so there we went. Once we got at... More

We went for dinner. Seafood pasta was ok but not exciting. Place is significantly overpriced. 20 USD for a small plate of pasta plus taxes & tip and 5 USD for a coke. No bread or something similar to start with. Service was mediocre even though place was empty. Very poor value for money.

I reviewed Tre Scalini in 2012 and have been back since. Yesterday I am sad to say for the last time. Maybe I have changed not them but the value no longer seemed there. $17.00 for a bowl of pasta with a little chicken, some olive oil and basil just seemed not right. The food was ok but for that... Having lived in Panama for over a year now, we have been blessed with trying many wonderful local restaurants. Tre Scalini reached the top for us!! The service was beyond wonderful, the food absolutely delicious… We were all very impressed and very satisfied. They made our evening so memorable. Thank you!!!

I read the reviews, but thought I would give it a try, my mistake. I decided to order something simple, Spaghetti Bolognese. What I received was a plate of Microwaved store bought sauce and mushy pasta. Waite staff are slow but finally they will arrive with the menu. Lost my business.

Napolitan food means a well seasoned tomato sauce (natural of course), "al dente pasta", correct combination of seafood, meat or even poultry, mozzarella chesse, and many other requisites. This well decorated and located restaurant in Costa del Este, has none of this nor any other qualifications to be rated as acceptable. My guest ask for a pasta with seafood (the... More

Recently stopped at Tre Scallini for a Business meeting. The food was very good and the atmosphere just what we were looking for. Service was a bit slow but it allowed us to have a nice business conversation over lunch. We ordered a seafood soup which was excellent, nice flavor and served hot. We then ordered several pasta dishes, all... More

I ordered a chicken and spinach lasagna. I was served layers of pasta with some pieces of chicken between them, and a cheese sauce poured over the top. I was told that the spinach 'dissolves' when it was cooked ! It was inedible. My wife's seafood spaghetti had been made with canned shellfish!

We both had a plate of spaghetti with tomato sauce (hardly expensive haute cuisine...), water and I think one coffee, the bill was around $50. Far too expensive. Food quality good. Not surprisingly, there were few patrons.
