A Gem

We came across this restaurant, which is a few hundred feet from our hotel. We love Peruvian food so had to try it out. From the street, it is an unassuming place and were it not for its sign would have missed it. Inside the tables have traditional Peruvian textiles as tablecloths, several painted... read more

This restaurant in the new part of town serves really tasty Peruvian cuisine, featuring ceviche of course, but with plenty of more unusual Peruvian dishes too. Friendly service and good prices. Unfortunately no tables outside.

The Concierge at our hotel recommended it which sometimes makes me leery. But it was truly excellent and only a block from our hotel.

It is difficult to err in this place: almost all choices are excellent. Do not miss the arroz con mariscos and jalea de mariscos. Servings are generous and outstanding in flavor. Try the hot sauce with caution: is really picante!! Overall an excellent value for your money, particularly in the area it is located. Parking is limited and prior reservation... More

My wife and I had a wonderful experience dining here. The food and service were great. Atmosphere is casual. Price is reasonable. We dined here twice during our stay in Panama. The cerviches (corvina & pulpo) are great! The Octopus Carpaccio is a must and the spicy picante paste/sauce that comes with it is awesome! Most of the starters are... More

the last time we were ate here was January 2015, however we also came here several times when we were in Panama last September. Every meal we had was great, we will be coming back again the next time we head back to panama as well. The portions are very large, an appetizer is almost a sufficient meal for one.

Very good pisco sour! We went twice for dinner and were very pleased with the meal. Corvina is on the menu at least 6 ways. There is a killer hot sauce that comes with the ceveche. Dangerous but tasty! The pulpo and ceveche were very good also The service is good and it has a nice atmosphere. It seems to... More

This is the restaurant to go to for seafood prepared with the spices of Peru. Although our grilled octopus appetizer was not as tender as our first visit, the black rice seafood entree and the grilled corvina were outstanding.

For us, it is a local restaurant and we love it! Everything we've had there has been excellent. I will have to write down what we had so I can order it again. Would highly recommend making reservations. Service is very good and the atmosphere easy going and pleasant. I love the fish tank and hope it is not my... More

I'd visit Mar de Grau Rest for a Business meeting. Order a "Causa de Camaron" (stuffed potatoes with Shrimp -Typical peruvian dish) as appetizer and "Lomo Salteado" (sauteed steak with french fries and rice) as entree. The steak was OK, but the shrimps in the appetizer were not cleaned. I've request to the waitress to change my appetizer and prepare... More
