Shakshuka!!

You have to try the Shakshuka for breakfast. I will say is the best shakshuka I have tried. Much better than the famous Dr Shakshuka in Israel.

The presentation of the food is great, very good variety and price. We tried the thai octopus, shrimp raviolis, sesame crusted tuna and chicken chutney. All great! Also the desserts are very tasty. Staff and atmosphere is really good!

Much better food then I expected at a remote beach side restaurant, bar. Very fresh and well presented. Service a bit show, but you enjoy the views and atmosphere..

We came back to El Sitio after enjoying it two years ago, and would not recommend it again. Prices have gone up to levels you would pay for the same mediocre food on the beach in California. They have put up signs to keep coolers off of "their" beach. They seem to be leading the way in this area on... More

Went for lunch on a nice quiet day at the beach. The menu selection was very inviting, I had a hard time choosing! Since there's not too many places serving curry, which is my favorite, I opted for the chicken curry. It was delicious. Not too spicy, served with a nice rice and yogurt sauce. I had a to-go order... Beautiful setting with really tasty, gourmet food. The owner is a lovely woman who made us feel welcome. We loved the fish and the steak. We ate here twice out of our 4 night stay in Playa Venao.

While staying in the Playa Venao region, we were told to sample the highest rated restaurant (El Sitio), it was touted as up-scale beach food. On New Years evening, we were put on a wait list for 2 hrs, and then subsequently told that they would be unable to seat us. We came back the next day for lunch, and... More

Unfortunately you are right... On and around new year, we were overwhelmed by the demand and the amount of hungry folks that came by to visit and experience our kitchen and location. Our kitchen and suppliers couldn't handle the huge demand, service was hurting and people were complaining. No excuses - The restaurant is part of a small boutique hotel... More

We have been to Venao several times and eat here at least once every trip. The staff are young and seem to be there more for the party and the setting than to help you. We even witnessed a lovers spat between staff, right when we were trying to get information from one of them! Basically they were taken away... More

it all started out fine. it seemed odd that the restaurant was basically empty, except for the owners son having his lunch and than the waitresses eating ice cream out of the containers (i assume that was the end of it). the waitress was indifferent, but i dont really care if she does her job. she doesnt has to love...
