We were at Maito 2 out of our 3 night stay in Panama. You simply *have* to try their excellent cooking. Every single one of the dishes we ordered were expertly prepared and served with a loving smile. We were so lucky to try their dried angus starter special - new tasting experiences can be rare, and this was most... More

We arrived without a reservation and the hostess told us that he could seat us outside. We waited for 10 minutes and then he took us to a table. The table wasn't even ready and it was really dark outside. After about 15 minutes they moved us inside and everything got better. The food was amazing from starters to dessert,... More

Maito is a restaurant that combines the panamanian food with gourmet cuisine. Very nice ambiance and very good food. The amounts are kind of small thous.

I went with friends recently to Maito. The food was very good. The wine list also very good. I like the decor a lot and the service is very good. Been here a few times and it never disappoints.

My wife and I had a 30th anniversary dinner in Maito last night. The food was outstanding and the service perfect. We both had the tasting menu. Each course was very tasty and presented beautifully. The pace led to a very pleasant night. Don't miss this one.

From beginning to end this restaurant never ceased to impress us. We were a party of four, one in our group did not speak Spanish and the waiter kindly translated the entire menu for him. Our waiter was personable and at our service at all times. The berenjena with feta was delicious and I followed with the red snapper that... More

I went to this restaurant in Panama last year since my wife is from Panama. I was told by the locals that the restaurant was awesome. However, when I got there i found the food good but not the how I was told by the locals.

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, but I just can't. Almost every dish we had was great, but the final dish, the ropa vieja, was just really bad. It has absolutely no seasoning and really could have used some salt (tasted better when eaten with the provided chips). The squid ink risotto with calamari though is to... More

Very friendly staff. The carpaccio was to die for. Never in my life have i seen carpaccio so thin and so flavorful. i was expecting the portions to be smaller based on some of the reviews, but it was more than enough for 4 of us. We ordered 4 appetizers to share, and i couldn't finish my main- which was... More

4 of us dined there recently and given the fact that this is Panama, the restaurant does a great job with what they've got. Friendly and efficient service, great bottle of Albarino, and between us we tried about 6 apps and 4 entrees. Tuna tartar and avocado was delicious and I highly recommend this dish. Another winner was the cochinita... More
