Our last lunch before we departed Casco Antiguo. The food was decent, price was fair- the menu was limited. We had to eat outside, which was not an issue for us, but could have been for others. The service was excellent, but dropped off toward the end- which seems to be fairly common (as we had experienced).

We were directed to try this 6 table restaurant by an expat who lived there. We had 3 choice for lunch, pineapple rice with chicken , fish,or pork. We tried the first two which were terrific. The family style salad was very good and the meal included tres leches dessert cake that we very much enjoyed. The meal was around... More

A local recommended this restaurant to us and we were very pleasantly surprised by the wonderful food. You pay one price and you have the choice of type of meat. The rest is a surprise from the chef. The meal started with an appetizer, followed by a soup, then a delicious salad, then the main course and then dessert. The... More

This restaurant is lovely and we ate here 2 nights out of our 4 night stay in Old Town (PC). You only get to chose 2 options .. You either chose the lunch menu or the dinner .. both options you can share but I would really recommend trying the dinner option as you get to try everything. They basically bring... More

We were looking for a place to eat, and there were a couple on the street. The owner was out front looking for people like us. He waved us over, and we could not say no. From the initial look we expected expensive - they had linen tablecloths and napkins at lunch. There were a few specials and we tried... More

For $10 U.S. per person we were served bread, salad, curry rice, choice of meat (curry chicken, pan fried sea bass, or pork) and a small dessert. Everything was excellent and very well prepared. We stopped a local man on the street and asked him to recommend a restaurant. He personally led us to Rene Cafe, and even though lunch... More

This place was recommended to me, but it really wasn't that great. Especially for the price. Food was sub par.

We were doing a tour of the colonial part of Panama City and our guide pointed out a few restaurants for lunch - we chose Rene Café, close to the Cathedral. Rene's is a lovely small eatery, so the service is really good. When we arrived, we asked for the menu and basically it just said 'lunch' $10.. so we... More

Great food at an amazing deal! We got the lunch option for dinner and I still couldn't finish everything. Wine was good, food was great, service was great.
