The service here is amazing. The portions are generous and affordable. I have been here 10+ times and have never been sick. My family of four can eat for for under $60 and we are full and happy. We will miss this place when we leave.

The sashimi and sushi are fresh and authentic - the fish is fresh. My favourite - tekamaki is as good as in Japan. It's not cheap but always a worth while treat.

I will definitely go back. This was an authentic Japanese restaurant in San Salvador with very friendly service. I had spicy tuna roles and a Ramon soup dish. Both were excellent and I had more than half my food to take home so it was very well priced for the quantity. I also had a traditional Japanese soda that was... More

The place is superb!!! Loved the decoration and the staff is great, plus is that the owner is there in situ. Had four rolls which the ceviche roll was one of the best Ive tried. I totally recomend Kamakura for a nice dinner or lunch. Enjoy!!

Japanese restaurant I have visited several times, we went especially for Sushi. It will satisfy your taste buds, if Sushi is the reasoned for your visit, but nothing special! The original owner was a Japanese lady, but since I was told it was sold few years ago? The secret to good sushi, rice and good fresh cut of fish! Most... More

It's a bit pricy by local standards, but it is well worth it and if you're visiting from NYC for example you'll find it cheap beyond belief.

Went for a business dinner, rather early in the evening. Mostly gringos like me at the table, so we were there before the typical Salvadoran. To a person, we all loved the sushi. We had miso soup (one person said it was the best they ever had), sashimi, several different rolls, even had tempura fried ice cream and bananas. A... More

Great Japannesse food. A little pricy though. This is a hidden gem, located one block from Crown Plaza Hotel San Salvador.

Kamakura offered authentic sushi at prices that were more than reasonable. The rolls I had were exquisite and the sashimi delicate and fantastic. Definitely a nice place where you can take a date, talk amongst friends or even impress potential clients.
