Citron notes on my palate

My friend Margarita is a journalist, like me. When I visited her in El Salvador, 15 years after we met in Sweden, she decided it was reason enough to celebrate. So, she whisked me off to Citron, the brainchild of celebrity chef Eduaordo Alberto Harth, who travelled in France and worked in New York... read more

This restaurant is truly fantastic. It could easily hold its own in New York or Paris, but since it is in San Salvador, the prices are extremely reasonable. I've been there four times now and I've never had a disappointing meal, but the stuffed portobello is to die for. Their menu seems to change seasonally, but if you see it,... More

What a surprise, original Latin Fusion cuisine in the land of simple staple foods! This oasis in the Zona Rosa of San Salvador is owned by Chef Eduardo Hart, his passion for cuisine is noticeable everywhere... From the layout of the kitchen and finger food bar; to the restaurants own meat smoke house, home gowned spices and innovative marriages of... More

Inventive and delicious menu fusing local ingredients with tradition European fare like gnocchi. Love, love, love the plantain gnocchi. The only things I would recommend would be the apple martinis. Appetizers are about $7 and main courses are $18-$22.

Citron is one of the top two or three restaurants in San Salvador. It's located in what used to be a private home with beautiful modern architecture and interior design. The food is loosely based on Salvadoran cuisine but with a contemporary international twist. Many of their ingredients come from the back yard garden, and they make others in-house, like... More

Before dining at Citron, I had never been to a restaurant where I could have ordered and been happy with any appetizer, salad, entree, or dessert. Every item on the menu sounded delicious. Luckily, we (3 persons) agreed that the menu description was translated onto the plate. The food was delicious. The beautiful surroundings, refined service, and excellent food made... More
