Great place, delicious dishes

I first visited this place in 2007, and since then nothing changed besides location - great delicious dishes, good atmosphere, nice service. The dishes are cooked for a longer time than in other places, but they are fresh made so it's not a complaint.

This is such a gem of a restaurant in Kyiv. The location is on a busy street but the atmosphere inside is quiet and peaceful. The owner is actually from the U.S. (although Indian by birth) and he is there helping his father. The food is amazing and the service is spectacular. The prices are very reasonable as well. If... Decor nice and staff friendly. Portions small, not very warm, not very spicy, in the case of the tandoori chicken - not very fresh. OK for introducing someone new to Indian cuisine, but I have been spoiled elsewhere in the world and this is not really up to the standard of what you expect in, say, the UK.

I have ordered a table for two beforehand and when we came, they offered us a table near the entrance as the last one, but when I went to the ladies' room I saw free tables on the second floor. We have ordered just two dishes and two drinks and was waiting about 45 minutes to get it...My shrimps and... More

I have been going to Kiev for the last couple of years and was passing by two days ago. Visited this place with two other people. I will not going into all the gory or horrible details of this bizarre meal. Canned vegetables, overcooked meat and what seemed to me like a microwaved naan, tell half the story. Improper ventilation,... More

When an indian restaurant features chinese cho mein as dish of the day, it tells the story. Food was bland, no taste, no spice, no ambiance. You wont see me again

When this restaurant was on the main street (Khreschatyk), I loved going there from time to time. Prices a bit higher than average, but the food is delicious and worth spending on it. Then it moved to Velyka Vasylkivska (former Chervonoarmiyska) street and I decided to give that place a try as I knew that the previous location was great.... More

Enjoyed a late lunch at Himalaya today after spotting its new location. (I mistakenly had thought this venue had closed.) The New Himalaya is located in a slimmed-down premises relative to its previous locale, which, frankly, had started to get a bit tatty. However, the decor of the new Himalaya is kitsch eclectically mixing some of the familiar items removed... More

Since i have heard many good praises i went to check it out. First, i hate when they bring all the food together so that either you chow until you choke or the food gets cold. Second, food tasted a bit microwaved and digestion lasted 24h. I think i will give it another try to clear any doubt. Stay tuned

What used to be a traditional Indian family restaurant has now got a new place and a new man to lead it. I loved the old set up very much for various reasons, nice people, close proximity, good-enough food and not so biting prices. I was skeptical about the forced-geographical change that the business had to go through. I m... More
