Pleasant place located centrally

Our popular spot with ukrainian cusine, live music on friday evenings, very nice staff, interior cool, yet the menu is quite simple, pretty good local Pervak beer.

Firstly the menu is all in English and the bill is written Cyrillic, so they charge what they like. We were offered all sorts of extras as if they came with the meal, but as my husband can read Cyrillic, we could tell that the offered veg ( 2x slices aubergine, 2x slices tomato and 2xslices marrow) were a couple... First prices. We had the 2 most expensive starters and main courses. With 1litre 600ml of beer and coffee the price was 900 grivna, about 36€. We didn`t have a sweet, as we should have shared 1 starter - too full. The cheapest you could eat here for 2 would be about 500 grivna for a 3 course meal with... More

The place is located about a 1.5 mile west from the center. I am Ukrainian food fan and I tried number of places - some too pricey, some disappointing. I rate Pervak now among top five I recommend. This was my second time since back 3 years ago. I think the food quality has improved.

This is my favourite Ukrainian restaurant to visit while I am in Kyiv. The menu selection, food, and ambiance are spectacular. The friendly staff are dressed in traditional costume, and the dishes are high quality while still being affordable. They will often have live music to make it a truly memorable experience.

We had another great dinner where we sampled ten different dishes and some great dessert including a fab honey cake. Dinner categorically with vodka. @foodpasha

We really enjoyed our dinner here, quirky decor restaurant, with an upscale ambience, but very reasonable prices. All the Ukrainian food we tried (borsch, potato pancakes, chicken Kiev) were excellent. This restaurant is a lot better than some of its higher ranked competitors we tried during our stay. We highly recommend for a true taste of Ukraine!

This is a quirky restaurant - there are different areas to sit in, with different themes. The menu is mostly in Ukrainian but with English translations, and our waitress (who could speak some English) was really helpful. After ordering we had complimentary breads and dips brought round, to our surprise (not experienced this yet in Kiev restaurants), and we were... More

Pervak has been one of my stand-by restaurants for great Ukrainian food in Kyiv for the last 15 years or so. The turn-of-the-20th century décor sets the tone for a dining experience that takes you back to pre-revolutionary Kyiv. When you open the menu you immediately understand that your taste buds are about to be tempted with fancifully named dishes... More
