True Ukranian kitchen

If you want to be sure you will be served Ukranian dishes Spotykach is the place to go. The prices for wester-europeans are very reasonable. You should definatly try Salo!

The atmosphere is old Soviet style blended with modern kitsch. When you walk into this restaurant (located at vul Volodymyrska 16 in Kiev - closest Metro stop is ), you see modern art infused with old subjects and themes. You instantly feel welcomed by the staff. You are offered juice infused shots in tiny shot glasses as you enter (ours... More

We vistited the Spotykach because it is advertised as a 'Soviet Era' themed restaurant. I think it must have been recently refurbished as there was nothing Soviet on display? We werent disapointed though. The restaurant is nicely decorated and very clean with contmporary graphic prints of famous Ukrainians on all of the walls. All of the tables seemed to be... More

I was recommended to go here for true authentic Ukrainian food. When I finally did go the service was alright but the food was super blah compared to other Ukrainian dishes I've had at other restaurants around town. The prices were also higher than other Ukrainian places so, to me, this is not worth coming back to.

I visited with friends for a joint birthday celebration. The menu is great, with both traditional Ukrainian food as well as modern takes on national staples, the decor is quirky and cool and the staff were super friendly. Prices are very reasonable. I would definitely come back!

This place has been done well, nice clean interior with lovely wait staff. Menu was in English and also had pictures which helps. Food was nice but nothing to write home about, they do a chicken Kiev, if you want to tick that box.

Good Ukrainian food served by waiters dressed in typical clothes. Decoration is Soviet kitsch. Very enjoyable and fun experience not far from the Kiev business' district. The only "but" relates to the price which is a bit high.

Ukrainian food with an American twist. Menu is in English, choices are plentiful and the food is tasty. Prices are average. My most recent meal including a beer, starter, and entrée cost under 200 Ukr, or about $23. I've eaten here twice and if I come back to Kiev, I'll stop by again.
