"We started 13 years ago, on 27 February 1999, with an idea. We tried to keep this idea intact and even to improve it day by day. Because of you, our clients are most important to us, like I was the most important person for my mother when I came home for dinner. If we made it this far in 13 years, we owe this to our clients, that make us become better every day and we owe this to our 500 people team.I want to thank all my regular customers and to all those who have stood by us in these 13 years. I thank you because we exist. We owe this to you."Catalin Mahu - La mama

lovely food

Great food at reasonable prices. My wife and I enjoyed a nice meal here. They have a wide choice of food at reasonable prices and a menu in English. my wife had fish and I had sausage. We both enjoyed our dishes

We were pleased to find this just around the corner from our hotel (Athene Palace). Food was good and wholesome, several starters and mains to choose from. We almost walked past it because it looks Italian and has international beer logos (shame it doesn't offer the local brews), but it was a good choice. Service was friendly and helpful. Came... More

During a trip to Bucharest we were lucky to be introduced to 'La Mama' restaurant by some friends who live in Bucharest. We were a large group with both small childdren and teens. There was dishes to suit everyone. We ate a lovely relaxing lunch at a shady outdoor table one day, and on another evening were treated to some... More

Excellent alternative to the hotel food, La Mama is a local chain restaurant with consistently good Romanian fare. The restaurant is open late and has covered outdoor seating.

I had to accept an invitation from a business client, otherwise I never put my foot in there. Worse than ever, even if I expected that. The food looks horrible garbage and it's make of incredible cheep ingredients. Not even for free. To be avoided.

Wonderful setting. Great menu. Good service. And very well priced. New additions to menu are a great addition. Mice area. A little Paris nestled in Bucharest.

Probably this is the safest and the right value for your money in Mamaia , when you think about having dining ! Nice welcoming by the staff; menu quite complex'; prices rather fair compare to the rest of restaurants; service very good towards excellent. The brand sticks to it's name and you'll find same thing if you dine in Bucharest... More

Excellent traditional food and service that you'll rarely find in Bucharest. Ask for the zacusca, ciulama cu mamaliga, mici, and ficatei de pui. Wash it down with the limonada with mint and honey made from scratch! Amazing place, don't pass by it!

La Mama is tucked away behind the Calea Victoriei near the Hilton and the Radisson Blu hotels. It offers value for money traditional Romanian cuisine in a pleasant setting. Food and service are very good but it is a pity that the have to serve foreign beers like Tuborg rather than Ursus or Ciuk. If the customers are adventurous enough... More
