Description: "We started 13 years ago, on 27 February 1999, with an idea. We tried to keep this idea intact and even to improve it day by day. Because of you, our clients are most important to us, like I was the most important person for my mother when I came home for dinner. If we made it this far in 13 years, we owe this to our clients, that make us become better every day and we owe this to our 500 people team.I want to thank all my regular customers and to all those who have stood by us in these 13 years. I thank you because we exist. We owe this to you."Catalin Mahu - La mama

The place is part of a chain of "La Mama" restaurants. Since it is a chain do not expect to eat in the best restaurant in the area. They make their food before hand and just heat it up when it is time to serve it. I cannot say that I don't like the place thought. There are days when... More

I found the service poor, the bread dried out and the special "Mama's Schnitzel" inedible. It wasn't the cornflake crust but the meat that was just awful. Based on all the good reviews perhaps I should give it another try but the waitress seemed completely unconcerned that I only took two bites so I'm not inclined to try again.

I loved this restaurant. We were served great food. The young waiters were very efficient and gave us good recommendations from the very extensive menu. The venue itself is very appealing and we enjoyed a very pleasant al fresco dinner.

I really enjoyed this restaurant at an early evening dinner. The service was very friendly and attentive. I enjoyed the sour tripe soup and then had duck legs on cabbage. The tripe soup was wonderfully creamy and just a little sour at the same time with tender pieces of tripe. Two good succulent duck legs and plenty of sour cabbage... More

I went today - it was raining to La Mama (Bucharest) - Old Citi Center. I sat down and for 10-15 minutes nobody paid attention. Then I went MYSELF to get a menu. Nobody came after 10 minutes. The restaurant was empty and there were about 5 waiters/staff there. Incredible! So I left! I will never ever step in ANY... More

“La Mama” is a chain restaurant with all its’ pro and cons that serve traditional Romanian food as well as international dishes, a no-nonsense place where one can go with friends to eat and have a couple of pints in the center of Bucharest. The restaurant is also good for a speedy lunch but I would recommend it for families... More
