A great choice on a warm May Bucharest late afternoon

We intended just to have some drinks on their great patio, but when we saw the menu...it didn't seem we could do better anywhere else and decided to stay for dinner. I had the bean soup served in a hollowed round loaf...and pan fried carp (i'm keen on Romanian dishes you won't see elsewhere). My... read more

It's like drinking in a cathedral, eating in a home you'll never have and feeling like a prince while paying like a backpacker.

This is an old brewery, located in the historical center of Bucharest in a beautiful building. It serves good traditional romanian food, beer and a good selection of wines. The service is fast and the atmosphere very nice, but it is crowded and noisy. In the evening they have music and dance shows.

A must-see for any foreign visitor to Bucharest. The quality of the food is excellent, the architecture beautiful, and the live performances excellent to see.

Would advise reserving a table if you wish to visit at a busy time. Was seated upstairs which is the no smoking area but loses a lot of the atmosphere being up there. Menu is VERY meat heavy but there are a lot of choices. Had a meat platter which was excellent. Bread is soft and wonderful - was really... More

Appears that 75% of customers are tourists but don't let this turn you away. A must see for friends and family from overseas. Highly recommend the slow roasted pork knuckle and when they say good for 2 persons believe them. The sarmalute traditional minced meat rolled in cabbage leaf is worth trying. The pork ribs area bit of hit and... More

I will agree with some of travelers: dishes don't look like just cooked and are not so tasty. Just have some photos and find another place to have Romanian specialities.

Friends took us to this lively downtown restaurant. From the moment you walk through the door the place was buzzing. The atmosphere was alive and full of charm. We were sat at our table upstairs over a large atrium overlooking downstairs. Service was friendly although a little rushed. Food was wholesome and full of local flair and style. This place... More

My wife and I were part of a group of people who were taken to this place for lunch. It is a lovely place to visit, being part of Bucharest's history. Very atmospheric and beautifully decorated. But that's where the pleasure of the visit ended. We were crammed on to tables set to one side near the back. the 3... More
