More

We went there for dinner, had some soups (average) and as mains we tried the duck on stewed cabbage, duck cooked in lard and some baked seafood - ok, duck was rather tasty, but i found the seafood dish too salty and oily. Pancakes with cottage cheese, raisins and walnuts, toppled with honey are excellent for dessert. Atmosphere on the... More

Spent a wonderful evening in this Romanian traditional retaurant. I was having the visit of 3 foreign colleagues (one of them was vegetarian) and I tried to pick one of the Romanian restaurants emblematic for our national style. The restaurant is placed in an old and nice house and we were guided to a nice saloon, full of old Romanian... More

There is passion in Torna Fratre for sure. Some old school Romanian dishes are very good all the time and the fish offer is generous and fresh. Live Gipsy Music is present though not annoying. Same team of waiters from the beginning which says a lot about customer satisfaction.

This restaurant tries to introduce the guests into the old traditional culinary art of the Romanian people. Good food combined with old traditional music, a special enviroment, good prices and friendly staff create a unique recipe which makes me visit it at least once a week.

the place is kind of kitchy, a mixture between traditional romanian food and modernity. there are live singers who come at your tale asking for money in return of the song, even if you do not want them to sing. the food is average, the fish is not the fresest i ever eat, there are defently better places for traditional... Nice place, where you can eat like on the seaside. The fish is prepared in traditional style. Service in not the best, but the athmosfere is cosy.

We were there to celebrate the birthday of a close friend. Some of us arrived around 9pm and were surprised when, at 22:40, the waiter very rudely told us that they are closing at 23:00 and we should order one last round and hurry home. On the restaurant website, the closing hour is 24:00 and they even mention that if... More

Whenever we travel to a country we try to find new restaurants serving local food. Even though Bucharest does not lack them ("Carul cu Bere" is probably the most famous), we found that many loose their original strive for perfection as they become successful or very well known. Therefore, being that the food at "Carul cu Bere" was a little... More
