La Taifas means Moldovan traditional experience. Moldovan rustic food, traditional design and good quality service are our greatest prize for you. Grandmother's cheese pie is the dish you will want to eat here along with local meat dishes or vegetarian fresh salads. If it's summer try out our local fruits drink. If it's winter you will want to have our hot wine or balm tea to warm you up. Enjoy your meal!

Excellent Meal in a Very Crowded, Noisy Restaurant

La Taifas is clearly on the Tourist Trail and this is reflected in the effort made with traditional music and the accommodating of large groups. The music was energetic and loud, but luckily our small group of four sat in a side room and were denied the full frontal assault... The food was... read more

A perfect spot for tourists and locals both. We enjoyed the food and wine - a great selection for a first-time visitor to Moldova, plus they gave us some homemade dessert wine on the way out.

This is an excellent choice for lunch or dinner in Chisinau. Great staff, great atmosphere and music and delicious food. I am always go there during the summer when I can stay outside.

I recommended it for everyone. If you want to eat special local type of food you have to choose this restaurant. It was very fine from the welcome drink, trough the soups till the dessert. It isn't too cheap but I think its price not the biggest in Chisinau.

Taking into consideration the fame, I was expecting much more, but we were disappointed. The prices are very high, nothing special in the food... there are many national restaurants in Chisinau where the menu and the dishes are better at lower prices. The staff is arroarrogant and not friendly at all. If they feel that you want to spend a... More

Took my wife here for our 16th anniversary and it is such a nice setting. The best potato placenta (pla-Chen-ta) in Chisinau.

This was one of the highlights of my trip to Moldova. The staff were friendly and attentive, and welcomed us as if we were old friends. The food is traditional to Moldova. There are numerous menu options to ensure that there is something for everyone. I would recommend this restaurant, and would eat here again if I ever return to... More

The food is good and the wine also. But the place does not appear "authentic", even if that's the meaning. The music in some native gypsy style can be a bit pushy and intense, this actually made me and my party finish and escape early one time.

The in side looks like a museum. Ok service, food tasted sooooo good, but the meat (beef) was so hard. I felt like I was eating delicious tires! They Play the traditional music with the traditional instillments in that restaurant which is like a cave since it's in under ground floor. This restaurant is so famous in the city that... More

This restaurant comes recommended from everyone you ask it seems. Not just online, but from local guides as well as expats who used to live here. The atmosphere is quite warm and unique to Moldova, if not a little kitschy. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with the experience overall. The first shock was the prices - it is almost twice...
