Light summer dinner in the beautiful garden

It is so difficult to find good restaurants in Zagreb. The search gets even harder if you like to enjoy your meal outdoor on the terrace or in the garden. Now in the summer time the additional difficulty is that many restaurants are closed. Well, Baltazar turned out to be good, open and had a... read more

Well all together the experience was disappointing. Knowing that Croatian Politicians eat here I would really question their taste. So here is the verdict : -Service : 5 stars ( they really do care) -Presentation: 2 Stars ( nothing appealing) -Taste: 3 stars ( Burgers awful, carpaccio good) -Cleanliness : 3 Stars ( plates were not shiny) -Location: 5 Stars... We had one night in Zagreb and wanted to eat good local food. The recommendation was Batazar. A short taxi ride up from the cathedral. We were welcomed and shown in to the garden where well shaded tables were set out and we had the last available, so perhaps book. We were guided in our choice off both the menu... More

Been to this restaurant 3 times now over various different trips to the beautiful city of Zagreb and this place never disappoints. It's a little further out of town and you could easily miss it as the signage on the main road is very understated. However, what awaits inside is pure food heaven. On this visit, we shared a platter... More

Quality restaurant in close proximity of Zagreb Cathedral. Nice place with outdoor garden seatings suited for more formal dining occasions. Serves both fish and meat dishes. Agreeable and polite staff Food is very good, but not exceptional compared to prices asked, One of the more expensive restaurants in town.

Traditional and up-market restaurant with both good meat and seafood, good wine list, fabulous environment (outdoor seatong in an orchard), friendly staff and very good service.

Selected this restaurant for a very special day, and a very special dinner with my entire family. Food was okay, yet the prices were far to high and the food arrangements non-existential. The staff was slow to respond, and somewhat disinterested. Although we asked for background music of some sort, there wasn't any. All in all: I must complain, they... More

I was in Baltazar twice and both visit were just great. The food is really excellent and the atmosphere (especially when you sit outside in the garden) is amazing. The great experience was also with staff working at Baltazar. Apparently they have a lot of experience and they know what they do.

Reading the TripAdvisor reviews we were prepared for poor service but good food, so we went anyway. The results were the exact opposite. I was sold on the fish (big dish of sample of uncooked fish brought to the table to choose from), ...long story but we had dreadful asparagus soup, a dish of very over cooked sausage and stale... Quite fine restaurant, mixed with style of fine dinning and domestic Balkan Croatin look by its interior. Food is lovely, hospitality beautiful and polite. Only thing I havent liked were unspiced Ostrea Edulis seeshells, their taste was to salty and not enough spicy, that should be. At the end I had one of the greatest croatin wines by Matuško winery...
