The cuisine of the meat part is based on fresh meat, freshly picked vegetables, selected dairy products and the finest smoked and cured meats. All these products must be of the highest quality. Meals coming out of Baltazar’s kitchen contain a large amount of native Croatian products like “štrukle”, noodles, “mlinci”, “njoki”, green pasta, strudel, pastries and many others.

one of the most famous restaurants in Zagreb, focused mostly on meat. It is a sure win for feeding your business partners with traditional cuisine and enjoying a great evening in a beautiful courtyard. you can't go wrong with this one. Also, in the same courtyard is a fish restaurant Gaspar and wine cellar Melchior, also worth a visit.

As this restaurant boasts its quality, we expected at least good service and tasty food. But the overall visit was an utter disappointment. The waiters, as if they minded we came for a dinner, showed up sporadically in a hall where only 10 of us were sitting at our table. When I finally went to the counter to ask for... More

This is a restaurant that boasts its reputation and has prices in accordance with its reputation. Sadly the reputation is at fault. For such prices at least the cutlery should match, and the table cloths should not be torn. The waiters should be polite and the food should be very good - bordering on spectacular. Sadly none of this is... More

Nice place, with good music and polite staff. Food is ok but nothing special. Also I think it's overpriced.

Why does division rule ? Two answers: Firstly, the reviews on here seem relatively divided on the quality / value of this restaurant. To me the quality is good. I don't know re price, I didn't pay and had no awareness of the cost. But it was very nicely cooked fish, with good accompaniments - particularly good potatoes. Secondly, a... More

Went here based on reviews in travel guide. Service polite, both ordered different types of steaks with some sides along with some wine. All fine but around twice the price we had paid for a similar meal elsewhere in Zagreb and not quite as tasty. Fairly big restaurant so probably good for groups.

We arrived at Baltazar's around 10.15pm and were worried that we were going to be too late for dinner but they were fine and sat us down straight away and didn't seem too put out by this. Service was prompt and we ordered the house wine which was one of the nicest wines we had all holiday. They brought out... More

I had a business lunch in the fish part of the restaurant: fresh fish chosen from ice fridge and perfectly grilled, plus entry fish soup and some gratinated scallops which I can still taste in my mouth! local (Dalmatian Mavasja) white wine by the glass was also remarkable. I didn't pay the bill but realized that the total lunch was... More
