Very overpriced menu. For 270 kn we got a few fried vegetables, two or three pieces of fried fish left overs and 2 pieces of fried parts of calamari (not complete calamari). It was one of the worst and most expencive dinners I had in Zagreb.

Takenoko might be the best sushi place in Zagreb. It definetely targets upper class visitors. The interior is very pleasant, tastefully decorated with lots of fresh flower decorations nicely arranged. Always good music. Suitable for both business and private meetings. The selection on the menu vary a lot, from traditional japanese meals including sushi to beef steaks. The quality of... More

The first but still the real number one restaurant in Zagreb. Two restaurants are in Zagreb, one more focused on business whilst old location is the place for relaxed/ romantic dinner.

This was the first Japanese restaurant in Zagreb. It was always fancy, boasts with Japanese cooks (well, maybe not all of them) and offers a good choice of Japanese and fusion food. The prices are above average, but so is the quality of the food. Everything is really fresh and tasty. I love sushi, so I always start with it... More

Takenoko has a reputation of being upscale in terms of prices, but also quality. Unfortunately, I can't afford to eat in such restaurants often so Takenoko was chosen for a special occasion. Perhaps that's why the disappointment was even bigger. We had two starters, tom yam soup and spring rolls. The spring rolls are quite expensive at almost 80 kn... More

I have visited Takenoko a couple of times. The food is mostly good and pretty authentic too. Prices are rather high - especially for Zagreb! I would anyway go even more ofter but the service is really lousy. Part of the enjoyment of visiting a Japanese restaurant is always the good, friendly and attentive service. Unfortunately this is not the... More
