Description: Le Bistro has a strong heritage and history as the city's culinary...
Le Bistro has a strong heritage and history as the city's culinary innovator. Opened in 1986, as a small French type of restaurant, Le Bistro immediately took an important place in the everyday life of the capital. It was the first restaurant with the glass roof. Le Bistro hostesses were the first in town to wear silk uniforms. Also, Le Bistro was the first place where wine and champagne were served per glass. It is interesting that Le Bistro first served little chocolate with the coffee, and in 1989 Le Bistro was the first place in Croatia to serve the famous Italian dessert tiramisu and celebrate Valentine's Day. Today, this charming renovated restaurant is home to the legendary 'Esplanade Strukli' - traditional dish of Zagreb region - and the best in town! Le Bistro offers light breakfast, excellent coffee, awarded cakes, croissants, Menu du jour at just 19 EUR (3-course menu per Chef's choice with glass of house wine, coffee or tea), seasonal a la carte menu - available on App store for download and weekly promotional menus. Enjoy Le Bistro during breakfast, lunch or dinner inside or on the green terrace. Open every day from 9 am - 11 pm

Disappointed with the food as it was not very nice. Most of the staff were lovely however one was miserable and it seemed an inconvenience to her to be serving us. Would not recommend.

I ate Cod pate with small crispy round balls of bread covered with olive oil. For the main course we had Cod on white and it was DEELICIOUS! YOU HAVE TO GO AND EAT!!! (BY THE WAY COD IS A TYPE OF FISH)

Had dinner here twice. Staff very attentive. Menu varied. English spoken by all. Food of high quality. Good wine selections. Chef willing to modify. Small and cozy.

Part of the luxury Belle Epoque Esplanade Hotel and although of simple design still exudes the class you would expect in a 5-star establishment. The atmosphere however was relaxed and informal, with very friendly and knowledgeable waiters – Iva and Tomislav - who were happy to discuss the menu, wine list and even, at the end of the evening, British... We stayed at the Regent Esplanade Hotel and enjoyed a lovely meal in their restaurant. We were going to choose from the a la carte menu but on further page turning discovered their Menu du Jour. At 149Kuna for 3 courses, a glass of wine and tea or coffee it was not only excellent value but the food was fantastic.... More

After a morning sightseeing, we had a pleasant, tasty lunch. The young lady serving us on the rainy day was friendly, helpful and made excellent suggestions. Nice Croatian wine by the glass.

Lovely little Bistro with a great menu. We ate here twice and on both occasions had a fab meal. The price is average and what you would expect for a 5star hotel. Loved the atmosphere and the staff were great. If I am ever in Zagreb again I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again.
