Description: Le Bistro has a strong heritage and history as the city's culinary...
Le Bistro has a strong heritage and history as the city's culinary innovator. Opened in 1986, as a small French type of restaurant, Le Bistro immediately took an important place in the everyday life of the capital. It was the first restaurant with the glass roof. Le Bistro hostesses were the first in town to wear silk uniforms. Also, Le Bistro was the first place where wine and champagne were served per glass. It is interesting that Le Bistro first served little chocolate with the coffee, and in 1989 Le Bistro was the first place in Croatia to serve the famous Italian dessert tiramisu and celebrate Valentine's Day. Today, this charming renovated restaurant is home to the legendary 'Esplanade Strukli' - traditional dish of Zagreb region - and the best in town! Le Bistro offers light breakfast, excellent coffee, awarded cakes, croissants, Menu du jour at just 19 EUR (3-course menu per Chef's choice with glass of house wine, coffee or tea), seasonal a la carte menu - available on App store for download and weekly promotional menus. Enjoy Le Bistro during breakfast, lunch or dinner inside or on the green terrace. Open every day from 9 am - 11 pm

Good menu, excellent service and interesting wine list. Sat outside but both options available, located right beside the Esplanade Hotel so easy to find.

So sorry to have to write a negative review of this restaurant, because we had great hopes based on other reviews. Unfortunately our dinner was so heavy and stodgy that I was awake for two hours in the middle of the night with indigestion. The service was excellent, however, the same could not be said for the food

We went to this place twice, once for dinner and once for lunch, and the food was both times extraordinary! The service was excellent, well-trained and considerate. We even were allowed to have a look on in the inside of the hotel and the restaurant Zinfandel's, even though we weren't guests of the Esplanade Hotel. It has a beautiful French... More

We were staying in the hotel and thought the bistro was a good option. The prices are very high by local standards. My white fish was drowned in a rich cream sauce with nothing but a small leaf for garnish and side of odd creamy lentils to break up the monotony. It had no real flavor. I had asked for... More

Food was delicious with nice presentation. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. We stopped by in the afternoon and he set up a nice table for us for later in the evening.

The place itself is stunning and has a great ambiance. The service is warm and professional. The food although not to my taste is of excellent quality and will be appreciated by others. Thank you for the complimentary items we received - desert platter and an entree fish dish (see photos)

this is very quiet place. While having lunch you can discuss business matters with your colleagues. Staff is very attentive, they are providing good service but you practically don't notice them at all. Food was very good as well.

An elegant hotel very well located. 1920's European architecture built as an Orient Express Hotel. Beautiful courtyard, great bar. Nice help. Would definitely recommend it for your stay in Zagreb.
