Description: Le Bistro has a strong heritage and history as the city's culinary...
Le Bistro has a strong heritage and history as the city's culinary innovator. Opened in 1986, as a small French type of restaurant, Le Bistro immediately took an important place in the everyday life of the capital. It was the first restaurant with the glass roof. Le Bistro hostesses were the first in town to wear silk uniforms. Also, Le Bistro was the first place where wine and champagne were served per glass. It is interesting that Le Bistro first served little chocolate with the coffee, and in 1989 Le Bistro was the first place in Croatia to serve the famous Italian dessert tiramisu and celebrate Valentine's Day. Today, this charming renovated restaurant is home to the legendary 'Esplanade Strukli' - traditional dish of Zagreb region - and the best in town! Le Bistro offers light breakfast, excellent coffee, awarded cakes, croissants, Menu du jour at just 19 EUR (3-course menu per Chef's choice with glass of house wine, coffee or tea), seasonal a la carte menu - available on App store for download and weekly promotional menus. Enjoy Le Bistro during breakfast, lunch or dinner inside or on the green terrace. Open every day from 9 am - 11 pm

Food was yum, wine yum- French chic agreed. Rotating menu. I stuck with French onion soup, sauteed mussels appetizers and cheese cake ... and most of my honey's chocolate mousse (I can't resist handmade sweets). Too bright is my only complaint. Sit toward rear (off street) for more romantic interlude. Bistro was always available when the hotel restaurant was booked.

We always stay at the Esplanade, truly a grand hotel, and Le Bistro is their informal restaurant. The staff are friendly and accommodating, the menu and wine list fairly extensive, and the strukli to die for!

Not particularly big portions. Food was not spectacular but a beautiful restaurant. Service was really good and the complimentary bread etc was also very nice. More on the pricey side (for portion size & since it wasn't French food being served but some German dishes which are known to be always served in larger portions) I would say but not... More

Exquisite food and service. We ate fish and meat meals, everything was good. The employees are young, good looking and quite cool, actually.

Could not be better, it offers a degree of informality with enough napery, good service and excellent food to make it the ideal 'pit stop' if you do not want the formality of an entire dinner/

this restaurant has a casual atmosphere but the food is seriously good. The service was outstanding and their recommendations were usually accurate. They are not in a hurry to be done with you so if you don't ask for the check they will not bring it. Sometimes they will have special menu including appetitive, main course and dessert for 100... I have visited the restaurant during the popular restaurant week. All I can say is - excellent. The staff was professional but kind and warm, the service was fast and unobtrusive and the food was...divine. 3 courses + couvert. The portions were more than enough and the taste was - 5* :)
