Great food! Last time we went I ordered the meal of the day and it proved extremely good. Recommended for its beef meat selection. The interior is nice. Great location. Bear in mind that the place is quite small though.

Everything is very, very delicious, beautiful and feels like you visit an old friend for dinner. Try the duck with honey sauce!

I was very skeptical of a French restaurant in Sofia but this was a very pleasant surprise. The food was great and hostess was a pleasure to talk to. It's hard to find a restaurant in Sofia that delivers consistent results for many years - restaurants seemingly change every couple of years. This is my new away-from-home French restaurant when... Despite only having been here twice, I allow myself to place L'Etranger on the top of my list of restaurants to visit in Sofia. The place itself is cozy and nice furnitured, with small hints of decoration that can bring you to a street café in Paris. The owner and cook is French, staying downstairs in the kitchen, while his... More

The French food offer in Bulgaria is limited to say the least. ;-) I remember how happy I was when I went for this restaurant for the first time! I went many times since then with my family, friends, foreigners visiting Sofia. Always welcomed, always feeling at home, always happy and satisfied with the moment. The menu is changing all... More

Lovely little restaurant,Very friendly and helpful with us making a very good decision on the food and wine, one veggie and one meat eater. Food was all lovely, and we left very satisfied. Will definitely go back next time in Sofia. No hesitation recommending L'Etranger

A small charming place with terrible acoustics, but at least they don't have ridiculous paper napkins but high class one with embroidery. The wine menu won't embarrass typical any French Bistro and shows a lot of enthusiasm. Even though I took Bourgogne 2008 I wasn’t so impressed. After a long French waiting, I got a few good olives that ‘fit’... More

Found this place near our hotel, arriving around 6:20 p.m., went here based on tripadvisor reviews. Ran by a nice couple, who have fair English language skills, the restaurant has some nice and tasty meals. We did have a longer than usual delay between ordering and getting bread and our drinks, even for Europe. Our group of four had the... More

Having travelled through the Balkans for a couple of weeks, eating the delicious yet greasy and meat-heavy cuisine on offer, I was badly in need of some properly made delicate food. My guidebook recommended this place, and I 100% concur. A small restaurant with perhaps just eight tables, but not remotely crammed together, and the interior design allows privacy for... More

I reccomend the place to people who appreciate good quality food. The place is very charming and cosy..with a very warm athmosphere. The service is very good too..the personal speaks several languages ,so we were happy with that too, sinse my wife speaks French and I speak English..that was no problem for the waitress. The food, the wine and all the little... More
