Casual atmosphere, great service, really good French food.

This place is tucked away in a small side street a couple of blocks back from the Front de Mer. It has a rather unassuming frontage and no patio area, unlike a lot of the restaurants in Papeeti but that means it is quiet and cool. The waiters are attentive and knowledgeable, the wine list is very... read more

My wife and I ate a L'o a la bouche last night. We had a solidly good, if not memorable, experience. The restaurant is simply furnished. The service was quite good, attentive and not over bearing. The food was good, but nothing exceptional. I had the tuna carpaccio and steak with a cognac sauce. My wife had the shrimp skewer... More

We walked into this place for an impromptu lunch after buying pearls. We almost missed lunch service but they sat us anyway. Awesome food. Try the Moonfish with wild mushrooms - who would have thought of pairing fish with mushrooms? Try the profiteroles for dessert - the work of the Devil no doubt. Friendly, helpful staff too

L'o a la bouche is an incredible restaurant with a wonderful wine list and great French food. My wife and I came with no expectations and we left very happy. The restaurant exudes quality. Service, food and wine were terrific. Highly recommend this beautiful little jewel in the South Pacific.

We learned of this restaurant in a travel guide. It was difficult for us to locate because we did not have an address to refer to and none were listed anywhere online so by the time we located this place, we felt like winners. The restaurant is located on Rue Titi’aivai off of Avenue du General de Gaulle; between the... More

after spending 18 days in the French Polynesia, and being spoiled by Paul Gaugin's wonderful food, we did not think we could top it....well, the chef at l'o a la Bouche DID IT. Not only the food was of top quality, the chef managed to prepare all of our meals ( 12 people ) at the same time. The food... More

This restaurant was recommended by the concierge at the Intercontinental hotel. I am so glad he did, the chef is a magician, not only did he produce world class dinner he also managed to have the meals for 12 people all at the same time. This restaurant only needs the waiters to smile a bit more to be considered a... More

Very close to the cruise ship terminal and situated very well in Papeete. Food was ok but doesn't live up to the exalted reviews and expectations. No view.

Actually it is very difficult to find nice restaurant in Papeete but this restaurant always provides the high quality plates and with reasonable price!! So if you haven't decided to eat yet, you can go there!!!

We asked for a taxi driver some tips to lunch in Papeete, and she drived to L'o a la bouche. The appetizer (salmon terrine) was awesome, and main courses also. We order for the dessert of the day, wich was an chocolate pie with vanilla ice cream. Wonderful. The place is small, but very warmful.
