After 2 weeks of overindulgence, this is just what we needed- good healthy food and a bonus of great, friendly service! We originally intended to just have a glass of wine here and then go to the roulettes, but we we were impressed with the French table wine-$9.00 for a carafe and the appearance of the food being served, so... Just a few blocks walking distance from the Ferry Terminal (From Moorea) this sidewalk cafe was just what we needed on the last night of our vacation - Cold beer, an excellent grilled seafood combo, and fast, courteous service. The waiter placed our luggage safely within our reach, but out of the way, and then explained the choices (in good... More

If you are not staying in Tahiti, you will be faced with wasting a day Pappete for your flight back to the states...you will be tired of black pearls, Tahitian prints and wooden men....find a place to plop and people watch. This is a good one. Service was GREAT, the best we had all week! She even spoke a little... More

You will meet a lot of fellow tourists, as well as locals here for the beer, I can recommend it for those reasons. Also it may be the only place on the waterfront open (with the Three Brasseurs), depending on the hour you want to dine. My beers were just fine, it was a sunny day, the servers were first-rate,... This place just looks like your run of the mill sidewalk cafe, but the food was really exceptional! possibly the best possion cru of our whole trip and the club sandwhiches were awesome! highly recommended and great for people watching.

We arrived late on a Sunday, and walked from Fare Suisse down unfamiliar streets to find this, the (seemingly) ony restaurant that was open and serving a late dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal of thin, very rare Ahi tuna slices with sides and Hinano beer. A good introduction to Papeete, and a restaurant we were to return to again... More

I went there quite often for lunch and/or breakfast. Not my first choice but my clients love it there. Don't know why. Food is awful, prices are in the high range and you get attacked by mosquito bites.

We were staying at Hotel Tiare (see review) which is 1 block west and the staff there recommended Le Retro. What a wonderful surprise!!! We were staying the one night on our way home from a 3 week tour of French Polynesia (see other reviews Fare Hamara Moorea, Oceania Marina 10 day cruise, then a week at the Four Seasons... More

Food was cold and still frozen... I expect fresh food in a restaurant. Never going back there. Too expensive for the quality!
