There is no bad food in Tahiti --- there may be but we haven't found it yet. But the restaurant at Le Royal Tahitien is one of the best of all. As it is part of a hotel, it is also open on Sundays. Reservations for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays is certainly recommended. The atmosphere is unbeatable. During the... More

the Poisson Cru is delicious, so is the sashimi, and basically all the starters are very tasty and filling.

Lunch on a Saturday. Reservations recommended. Crowded with big tables full of locals. We had a table outside on the patio. Very nice view on the black sand beach. Refreshing breeze. Had a freshly squeezed pineapple juice and a "poisson cru au lait de coco". First time I experience such delicate presentation in Tahiti. Exceptional! The raw fish comes with... More

The restaurant is well located, by the beach with a nice view on the lagoon. It's one of the Polynesian restaurant which has kept its authencity, you feel the Tahitian ambiance which quite rare nowadays! The food is very good and I like the way the food is displayed on the plate, it's full of imagination and very attractive. The... More

Let me start by saying the staff are attentive wihout being annoying and my steak was well above average medium rare, very tender. So why is this place so deserted when you enter? It is because tourism in Tahiti has taken a hit due to the expensive nature of any holiday to French Polynesia. I have seen calls to refurbish,... More

Le Royal Tahitien is not centrally located but if you can manage to get there, you will love the great chicken fafa or coconut crust mahimahi ! Louis and his team will be very helpful. Not many tourists but plenty of locals enjoying the food and the music in the evening.

One of my favorite places to have lunch in Tahiti, I love it. I feel some of the old Tahiti when I go there. Lots of locals business people go there for lunch. The food is a little on the expensive side, but still good. Don't expect gourmet. You really go there for the location/view of the restaurant. Its one... More
