Great food, service and view from the restaurant. This place was highly recommended by everyone we spoke to and rightly so, our experience was fantastic!

Celebrating Mothers Day with brunch or lunch at Tamarind House is something of a tradition here in the Cook islands.
Beautifully set tables with fine linen and glassware and bunches of colorful flowers, heliconia varieties and leaves greeted us on our arrival last Sunday.
Table service was prompt, and the pre-lunch Mai Tai was just to thing to have whilst...

This restaurant is in the only colonial building left on the island. Book and ask for a table by the window. The windows open right up and there is a lovely garden The fish curry was very good.
Tamarind House Restaurant is located on the edge of Avarua (the main town on Rarotonga, located on the north side of the island). It was recommended as the top restaurant on the island and 'expensive'. We agree that it deserved the 'top' rating but disagree about it being pricy. We arrived hungry and ordered a main only, Swordfish @ $NZ30,...

We live in Rarotonga. For my wife's birthday, I invited several of her friends to join us for dinner at Tamarind. The day before the party I went there in person and made a reservation for eleven people for the next day. I also ordered a chocolate cake to be served as desert. I also specified where we wanted to...

establishment in question in May 2012. How very odd to put up a review 12
months later.

wrong place, and it is for...

We went for a meal at the Tamarind on our last night in the Cook Island, after being advised by friends to go. Great service, Great views, Great food and reasonally priced too. Sonya and I had a great night out. What a way to finish off our holiday. Thanks to the team at Tamarind House.
A touch of the old fashion outlook about the place, coupled with a bunch of excellent staff, sprinkled with heaps of smiles and excellent service, a big dash of scrumptious meals, coupled with a gorgeous friendly great cook (Robbie), you don't need to look elsewhere. We all had a great meal and a great time mwith friends. Robbie, mmmmmmmmwwwwwaaahhhhh. That...

We had a nice meal here, but perhaps it had been built up a little too much in our minds from reviews our friends had provided. The food was definitely good, the service was excellent, but it wasn't quite the standout restaurant we had been led to believe. That said - make sure you try it as the views are...
