This restaurant was a very popular one as it was extremely busy on the night we ate there Be sure to book! The service here was exceptionally good. The food choices were also great. I think that this restaurant had my favourite desserts on my trip to Raro.

Set on lawns overlooking the ocean, The Tamarind is a lovely place for dinner in Rarotonga. The food was good and the service attentive and professional.

What a fantastic restaurant, the food was a mix of local cuisine and western food. I had Marlin with Rukau, Brocolli and Potatoes and it was amazing. Great venue as well with an awesome outdoor area overlooking the beach.

If nothing else it is worth going to the Tamarind House just to take a photo of the beautiful old Caribbean style and grounds. Coconut trees placed beautifully on lawn before sandy lagoon. Stunning. We had been here seven years ago and we still enjoyed it. Food was average to very good but the location wins again. First time I... More

Ok, we ate here three times during our visit to Raro. Surely that should tell you enough. Location is spectacular. They even put on a show for us, watching Humpback Whales do a full breech less than 500m from the restaurant. Not something you see every day (unless you eat at Tamarind House). Food and service, top notch!

This place was brilliant. The food was exceptional, the service was of a very high standard and the ambience is fantastic. On top of all of this, it is in an amazing location. Highly recommend.

Sue's restaurant and location are a must do! Awesome food and open air dining on a perfect Raro evening can not be beaten.

We got the impression they would be a bit snooty about kids here so went in for Sunday brunch rather than an evening meal. The highlight of this was undoubtedly seeing a mother Humpback breaching with her calf just off the reef (as predicted by the expert staff at the Whale and Wildlife Centre in all fairness...) The food was... More

This was by far the best meal we had in Raro. gorgeous pork belly with balsamic braised cabbage and pea puree. dessert was fabulous also. We did not regret a cent spent here. Only wish we had come during the day so we could have watched the ocean while we dined. highly recommend tamarind house

We are long time fans of the Tamarind House having visited on a number of occasions over the past 8 years. This time we found the quality of food had deteriorated and while the service was good, it was impersonal. The location is so spectacular it overshadows some of the negatives but it could be so much better as it... More
