Beautiful setting with the lit up palm trees. The seafood platter was amazing, with a great variety of styles and tastes from Ika mata to curry to deep fried. Great service. Didn't try the desserts as was too full.

The restaurant came highly recommended by, oh just about everyone on the island and who are we to argue? So off we went in our tiny-red car... From the car park, the aromas are caught up on the cool sea breezes (...wow, that was almost poetic. Go me!) and it just feels right. We were seated in the lower dining... More

We had a fabulous lunch at Tamarind House. Service was great and it was lovely to sit by the doors and look outside to the beach. Fabulous. Unfortunately the day we went they were setting up for a wedding the next day so our view was interuppted with workmen setting up a marque. Couldn't be helped. The meal was lovely.

We had the pork wontons to start which were excellent. Then had the fish and chips and the blackened tuna. Both were good. Big meals so not enough room for desert. Service was ok. All in all it was a good night out.

We had a lovely time with a table right next to the open doors with nothing between us and the beach but a short stretch of lawn. This is luxury dining with an incredible view of the beach and sunsets. The service here was attentive and the food was amazing...don't forget some bug repellent.

All I can say is once you have eaten here you will know why its rated no 1, we were part of a wedding group of 50 people, besides the wedding venue, this is where we ran into most of the group , unplanned , they like is had heard this is the place to go

Owner has written cook books (which are for sale) and this lady knows what she's doing! A really lovely experience - especially at dinner, around sunset, because the colonial house setting, candle-lit with a view across lawn to the ocean couldn't be more romantic. Food perhaps best on Rarotonga, excellent bar, wonderful ambience...can't ask for more!

We visited the Tamarind House twice while staying in Rarotonga. The food was excellent with some good specials. Staff were very friendly, location was perfect with lagoon views and option to open up the bi-folding doors to see the great view. They also offered a way to pay individually which was a bonus as there was 5 of us. Was an... More
