Wonderful cafe by the shops

Cafe Salsa is our favourite place to have lunch when in Avarua. You can sit inside, if the heat outside is too much, or there is a shaded area out front and one (partly shaded, partly not) at the rear. The menu is fabulous - our biggest difficulty is choosing. Their ika mata is fabulous, as was... read more

We have had numerous trips to beautiful Rarotonga and have always been impressed with the breakfasts that Cafe Salsa provide. The menu is diverse and the portions are generous. We have always had excellent service and will continue to be regulars at this lovely, clean, and vibrant restaurant.

The Salsa Café near CITC shop. There were 7 of us who grabbed a bite to eat and we were all very pleased with the atmosphere, staff and the food. This is a lovely café. Had a milkshake for lunch and pawpaw salad. Husband had the fish burger very nice with the fish being Parrot fish this is to become... More

Both my husband and I enjoyed our meals here. Most of the meals are over $20 but a generous serving. Only recommendation I would make are there are much better places for coffee in town. Service was also very good.

We had a quick brunch.........my "toastie" was delicious. Would go back to this place. I didn't have cash to pay for my meal as the cost was under $20.00 so they trusted me to go to the ATM & come back and pay them. I was impressed by this trust.

We had read about Cafe Salsa and stumbled upon it easily while checking out the CITC Pharmacy on our first visit to Avarua. Spotting others drinking coconuts (nu) we ventured in for a coconut and berry muffin, which was repeated again only a few days later! Very lovely service and a variety of seating. The woodfired pizzas also looked very... More

Had the Thai salad with chicken and my husband had pancakes with grilled banana and bacon. I ordered chicken in the salad for an extra cost of $7 but was a bit disappointed at the little piece I got. Food was tasty though and coffee was good.

This was the only place in Avarua that we ate at while in the Cook Islands. Average is the best that I can come up with to describe the Cafe Salsa. We each ordered the margarita pizza, one with onions, one without. Both came without onions - someone was not listening. The taste was average, the toppings were average and... More

We didnt eat here but since they make one of the better coffees on the island ( that we found at least) we dropped in every day for a coffee and to read the local paper.
