Description: Apii Cafe was the best find for yum food and value in Rarotonga. New small cafe with outdoor tables. Beautifully cooked fish in coconut cream and coriander served with saffron rice, squash, salad and green banana($12) small size curried chicken but actually the size of a main for $6 served also with rice, salad and squash. Also cold meat sandwiches available at $6. Best value on island. Runs around the back of Cooks corner off main street, opposite the bowling green. Friendly people.

I'd heard good things about this very small outdoor café, located in central Avarua opposite the bowling club. Unfortunately, the café has been closed during the past year and doesn't look set to be re-opened anytime soon. There is already considerable competition for alternative dining and fast-food outlets within Avarua, with this spot being off the beaten track somewhat.

Prompted by a pamphlet in a shop, my friends and I tried Apii Cafe for lunch. For $13 we had a delicious meal of curried chicken with rice, salad, steamed veg and a yummy juice. We were welcome to all the bananas we wanted and Apii is lovely! It was also nice to have the cats, dogs and chickens wandering... More

Thought we would try this place for their well known great ika mata (raw fish). Turned out to be a great experience, $10 NZ for a generous container of raw fish (great flavours, fresh and perfect on such a hot day), two green bananas, rice and ripe bananas for after! :) great garden setting and friendly staff :) We will... Situated opposite the Bowling Club and just around the corn from Telecom and "the Computer Man, and "two minutes walk from "downtown" Avarua, Apii Cafe is one of the newest addition to the lunch scene. With competitive prices they offer a delicious variety of island style lunches that are both delicious and attractively presented. We ate there frequently this July... More

Apii Cafe has wonderfully delicate food in a lovely garden setting. The restaurant is on the road behind town -- go past Cooks Corner, turn right at the Computer Man sign and it's a little bit on your right. They have a little hut where you order. Then, take a seat in one of the covered picnic bench tables and... More

A super place opposite the bowling club. The food is exceptional and the service friendly. A real cute little place - if we had found it earlier, it would have been the only place we'd have had lunch.

Have been to Apii Cafe a few times now. Best to go on a sunny day. The raw fish is great / the curried fish supberb. He serves a lovely Ice Tea - must try. Nice touches with the food presentation always makes it a pleasure to go back. Keep up the good work.
