Nice food - try it just after lunch time

Looking for good coffee, we were adviced to try this one. As it happened to be lunch time, we tried there food as well. Both coffee and food were good, though the place was a bit busy during the rush hour of nearby workers. Food was surprisingly good, staff was friendly. Next time we would go... read more

I enjoyed to wooden paneling and quaint ambience of this little cafe. The lunch I had was excellent. The service was friendly and efficient. They even had wifi so I was able to keep up with the folks back home while I enjoyed my coffee after lunch. Highly recommend this historic cafe.

If you're a friend of the house, one of the many regular customers, then you're in for great service and you will be lavished with attention but if they don't know you, at times you might feel neglected. Food was good, not average but not spectacular either. What imagination they have, they put it all in the dishes cause the... More

We enjoyed the visit there. The food was wonderful the place is like a museum for a wonderful past. The placemats are of replicas of old newspapers. The service was fast, we went about 2pm.

This little, nice cafe had everything we need for a perfect Lunch or coffee break. The food was really good (we had the risotto and a salad), coffee is just decent and desserts are amazing. We will come back when we are in Montevideo again.

A great place for a drink (or a meal - they are pretty good). Small but cosy and atmospheric place. Definitely the most interesting cafe in Montevideo.

This café has a wonderful vintage feel and offers some nice light meals as well. The location in Ciudad Vieja made it relatively easy to find though that part of the city was not exactly hopping late on a Saturday afternoon when we were there. In fact, it was the only thing nearby that was open. We walked here from... More

This special cafe will remain you to Montevideo in its 40s or 50s. It´s a pearl in the middle of the down town area with great coffee and very nice atmosphere ....

This is a very popular spot for lunch - my recommendation is to dress nicely unless you want to stand out as a tourist. This is in the old part of the City / business section. Professional attire is the norm.

When I sit down to a meal at Cafe Brasilero I usually think "That looks interesting and different." When I eat out I like to get something that I could not do for myself at home so something original is always a great start. I have always found the meals to be of great quality and the service is good... More
