Cozy corner for a coffee

We went to Philomenes Cafe for a late afternoon coffee recently. This is such a cute place, food and drinks were lovely, and the staff working there were such nice people too. When we arrived, there were about 5 other couples there, which was about half of the tables filled. We were given the... read more

You can't leave Uruguay before checking out this restaurant. It is the perfect fusion of authentic Uruguayan delicacies and foreign flavors to give it that extra spice. The service is outstanding, they will accommodate your every need. It is a special space to share with all of your loved ones. You wont regret it!!!

A tiny little café where you can actually also get some nice cup of teas. All wooden furniture plus a sofa set and the tininess of the place make you fell at home. There's an excellent selection of little cakes and tidbits to make you feel even more comfortable. Average age of the almost exclusively female customers: around 60, which... More

It is a great place for a light lunch after you get tired of so much meat. The quiches are greapt, also the salads. It is a nice and cozy cafe.

This is such a cute cafe and the menu has a nice selection of cakes and a few odd items that you wouldn't find in Uruguay. However, the service is terrible - so slow! the coffee tasted awful and was watery (for a latte), the food took even longer than the drinks and was average at best. The food was... More

Totally needed this little cafe/restaurant. Waiting for the hotel check-in and not finding anything good with good wifi until here. Great environment, music, and awesome food. Carne picante lasagne and spiced chocolate tarta. Que Rico!

I had lunch here twice while staying in Montevideo and found it delightful. The staff are very helpful and attentive, a lovely young waitress tried to speak some English to explain the menu, and even spent some time chatting with me. The menu was probably one of the healthiest and freshest I saw here - a nice choice of savoury... More

My wife and I stayed in a hotel nearby for a couple of months and went here at least once a week. It is the only place we've found that serves a cheese platter with dried fruit, nuts, toast/bread, jellies, as well as a nice assortment of cheese. Their breakfast and lunch food is very good as is the service.... More
