Poor service. It took for ever to get our food. Tables that came after us got their food before us when they ordered the same as us! We tried to complain about that but the owner didn't want to hear about it. The food really poor quality. They don't get credit cards!!!

In a country where fish is not high on the agenda, this surely is one of the exceptions! Their seafood symphony is still a winner as well as their fried fish - the nearest thing to the real fish and chips in Uruguay!

The view has much to wish for. The restaurant doesnt have sea view. Instead it is facing a construction site. The food is below average. Some kind of tasteless fish covered in way too much sauce. They dont accept creditcards (international creditcards are VAT extempted) so the prices are 20% higher due to that. They do accept other currencies such... More

Poor food, lousy attention, and even worst: The manager refused to call a cab after lunch. Do not waist your time with this place

Great fish/seafood varierty. Decent prices. As some of the good restaurants in MVD, they do not take Credit cards.

Nice location: close to the water and a fresh fish market. And while the food had a strong tendency to be fried, it was totally above average. I'm not going to say its incredible, but there is no reason it should be outranked by a disgusting hotdog chain restaurant.

We expected more from this waterfront restaurant. It is located in a small group of fresh seafood markets, and had a relaxed atmosphere, altho no view of the water. Unfortunately, the food was overpriced and poorly cooked. The fish was covered in a nondescript sauce, and was underdone. The vegetables were overcooked and tasteless, and the bread was stale and... Had a great lunch here. The fish dishes were very fresh and large portions. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend for some nice seafood. Prices were moderate.

Great place to go in Montevideo to eat seafood! REASONS: -Super-fresh -Increadibly tasty -Attentive stuff (they made a special dish for me which even did not exist in menu) -Very resonable pices -Authentic -Opened throughout the day PS I was in posh places around and seafood has nothing to do there with the one in El Italiano! Will definitely recommend... More

Our hotel staff suggested this place as a good one to eat seafood. It was a very nice tip. We had a wonderful raviolli filled with salmon and ricotta cheese, with shrimp sauce, which will be difficult to forget... The place looks a bit worn out, but prices are quite reasonable and service is good.
