Customer service that must be improved and very good food.

This is a mixed emotions review: yesterday went to El Italiano with my family from Brazil. They love sea food and as the day was sunny we decided to enjoy the fresh air. As my husband and me arrived at 10 to 1pm we approached the person that was supposed to "welcome" the customers. This very first... read more

If you want eat great fish meal, Uruguay is not the place to be, but this restaurant is a valid alternative to "the always present" meat. The place is rustic but the service was good and Fish was good, cooked in a basic way. Finally I recommended.

Ups: relatively inexpensive wines (e.g., Trapiche Sauvignon for 290 Uruguayan pesos) and the enormous portions. Downs: quality of food so so. Many of the fish in the menu were not available. Issue: They do not accept credit cards and this is illegal. There is a law under which such type of business must accept a credit card. It is ridiculous... More

Poor service. It took for ever to get our food. Tables that came after us got their food before us when they ordered the same as us! We tried to complain about that but the owner didn't want to hear about it. The food really poor quality. They don't get credit cards!!!

In a country where fish is not high on the agenda, this surely is one of the exceptions! Their seafood symphony is still a winner as well as their fried fish - the nearest thing to the real fish and chips in Uruguay!

The view has much to wish for. The restaurant doesnt have sea view. Instead it is facing a construction site. The food is below average. Some kind of tasteless fish covered in way too much sauce. They dont accept creditcards (international creditcards are VAT extempted) so the prices are 20% higher due to that. They do accept other currencies such... More

Poor food, lousy attention, and even worst: The manager refused to call a cab after lunch. Do not waist your time with this place

Great fish/seafood varierty. Decent prices. As some of the good restaurants in MVD, they do not take Credit cards.

Nice location: close to the water and a fresh fish market. And while the food had a strong tendency to be fried, it was totally above average. I'm not going to say its incredible, but there is no reason it should be outranked by a disgusting hotdog chain restaurant.

We expected more from this waterfront restaurant. It is located in a small group of fresh seafood markets, and had a relaxed atmosphere, altho no view of the water. Unfortunately, the food was overpriced and poorly cooked. The fish was covered in a nondescript sauce, and was underdone. The vegetables were overcooked and tasteless, and the bread was stale and...
