This small restaurant in the hear of the old city in Montevideo was absolutely wonderful. The food is healthy and inventive. The owners work very hard to serve you something special. You sit at a bar and watch them prepare your food. It was comfortable and convenient for lunch. I don't think that they serve dinner at all. It is... More

We found this spot on trip advisor. We only had one day to explore Montevideo, and since we were coming to the old city anyway, I wanted to eat at a unique highly rated spot In the area. In all honesty we found this part of town to be less than charming and a bit touristy but Wasa made it... More

Best of the Best in Uruguay. Seriously. This is my second review of this restaurant. In the fifteen months since I posted my first review, it only has gotten better. I suspect Walter (the French chef and owner) is the kind of guy who would get Michelin stars in France. How and why he got here and why he has... More

Found this place thanks to tripadvisor. What an experience! We chose the vegan meal of the day and it was made in front of us. It was probably the best vegan meal I've had in my life! Just amazing! And the owners, I think French originally, were just the nicest! I'll definitely recommend this place to everyone who's going to... More

Cooked vegetables of 4 different colors, presented next to a slice of polenta, with ground radish flourish and an interesting sauce for the appetizer. Followed by just firm enough, flavorful meatballs in a bit sweet sauce, next to cooked leeks, and rice with toasted coconut over the top for the entrée. All for 250 pesos (about USD $10). Served along... More

Cuidad Vieja is a must see in the day time. But most importantly the top dining places there close early so Stopping here for lunch is a must. Wasa is a small place, but truely a gem in all of Montevideo. It closes around 3pm so stop early for arguably best lunch in Montevideo ( Estrecho is other ) As... More

We recently visited Montevideo and ate at WASA Ethnik Food twice (we would have gone again but the place was packed!). It's only open for lunch, and only on weekdays. There's a small table for two by the entrance, plus a bar that seats up to about 10 people. If you want to sit at the table, it's best to... More

We came here twice. Managed by a lovely lady and man that spoke French. It was some of the most delicious food we had over two months in South America. The juices were a nice surprise and everything was cooked well. Would strongly recommend you eat here.

I'm just going to reiterate what everyone else has said about this great place: every bite of food was delicious. I ordered the meal of the day and it turned out to be a starter of coleslaw with apple, but some of the yummiest coleslaw around. The main meal was a lasagna of curried tofu, also delicious and creative, the... More
