Excellent

Basic parilla but done brilliantly. No pretentions, just excellent meat in a lively atmosphere. Very friendly service and excellent value for money.

We have been walking by this place for about 5 years and always thought that it was a bar until we read about it on TripAdvisor. We said that the next time we were in Montevideo were we own an apartment just down the street from the restaurant, we were going to give it a try. We got there at... More

la pulperia was a vey nice place I went twice during my last trip to montevideo. They have good prices, good service in a very cozy place. The recommendations are, ask for the entrecot, amazing, with a green salad and a Patricia.

Not sure why this is not listed as the best restaurant in Montevideo. It was amazing! Now with only a few tables you have to either get there early or wait for the next available table, but the has nothing to do with the excellent quality of food. Easily one of the top three steaks I have ever had.

I went 5 years ago and now I came back. It's still the best meat and vibe in montevideo. Everything is delicious and worths every penny. The attention is familiar and fantastic. Is very small and gets busy very early, so move your feet quickly. I wouldn't recommend it for large groups or families with kids, unless you go with... More

Great atmosphere, small cozy place and the best meat in town. Amazing price compared to the big ones. Ask for the Chorizo, provoleta and Ojo de Bife jugoso! Dont try the wine of the house thought..better to go with a Patricia. Go early, the place gets easily crowded after 9pm, any day of the week.

Very friendly staff, few, but excellent, very well grilled cuts, served in the few outdoor tables or "la barra". Best meat I had in years in a very unpretentious, andhonest restaurant. The place does not have outdoor signs, and you may be surprised by the apparent improvisation of the place, unless you get there when a crowd is already waiting... More

Bit of a queue the first night so we came back the next and easily got a seat at when it opened at 8. Service was very friendly and efficient - really great atmosphere watching the meat being grilled whilst sitting along the outside bench. Absolutely delicious chimmichurri/salsa - got some of the little potato gems which were delicious -... More

I went here a few years ago to visit my then fiance that lived there. She lived 5 mins walking from this place and I could smell the beautiful steak as I got closer. I went 8 out of the 10 days I visited. AND I took some home to the States. It's like a bar, but go for the... More

We were recommended this restaurant by an Argentinian friend for lunch. This place is tiny and if you sit inside you see the chef cook the food. We had sausage and vegan wraps for lunch with beer. The wraps were delicious with a fresh arugula salad. What a contrast to all the trendy bars and rest in this area. We... More
