I was brought here by a local on my first night in Montevideo. I had no idea this place was ranked so highly on TA, but I completely understand why. This place has everything to be a crowd favourite. We sat at the bar and ordered a full array of items: provolone, chorizo, morcilla dulce, morcilla salada, mollejas, riñon, asado... More

Rustic but charming side-walk restaurant, with great food. One of the few places in Montevideo where you have to wait in line if you don't arrive before 8pm. The best meat, always cooked to order (which is not the case in many parrillas), large servings, attentive staff.

literally some of the best cuts of steak with an authentic atmosphere. its a hole in the wall with bar tables centered around a HUGE grill so it can be a more rushed meal/is always crowded. not to mention the best quality for the least $$ ive found in all of montevideo

One of the best rib-eye's I've ever had, cooked right in front of me on a coal fire. Sausages were also some of the best I've ever tasted, and let's not forget about the potatoes. Simply put, you can't go wrong with anything this establishment produces. I wanted to taste most of the menu after my first dining experience so... More

From the quality of the meets to the delectable sides, everything is first rate. The cuts of meat are out-of-this-world delicious and are cooked to perfection in a manner befitting the high-quality beef you get in Uruguay. Sausages are also delicious. One aspect that really sets this place apart are the incredible sides. The baked sweet potatoes al ajo are... More

I liked everything about that place! It was the most delicious bbq I had during my South America travel. The people working there are very friendly, they have excellent house wine (price-quality ratio), super tasty salad (mmm those onions and tomatoes), best chimichurri I have tried, and meat is excellent! Do not expect a posh place, or a restaurant, it... More

Carlos the owner warmly greeted each other 24 customers who were fortunate enough to be seated upon opening at 8 o'clock. While I had read all the great reviews on Trip Advisor, I truly was not prepared for what lied in store for me. First of all, I was lucky enough to get a primetime seat directly in front of... More

This is the best place to eat a parrilla. I went for lunch and everything was really good: the nice ambience, the fast treatment and the amazing food. Simple but the authentic uruguaian parrilla and in a very nice neighborhood.

Had the best meal of my entire trip. The staff is friendly and the meat so delicious. Ordered some provolone cheese as well and was really satisfied.

La Pulperia isn't a fancy spot--we sat on stools at the window overlooking the grill and visited with the folks on the stools next to us. But it was one of my favorite meals of our trip to Uruguay. My husband and I split an absolutely amazing steak, a simple but delicious salad and baked sweet potatoes drizzled with butter,... More
