Great for some pasta and medio y medio. Couples will enjoy the romantic environment. The decor is very nice, it looks like an European castle.

I went here with high hopes. A dinner and tour was arranged for us, but after a 3.5 hour dinner, we passed on the tour. The food was good enough, but the service was just off. We would spend 15-20 minutes waiting for the server to return, we had to retrieve our own wine, dinner orders came out by ones... More

Housed in a historic building, tastefully decorated, artfully served food, privacy for visiting with the people at your table... We had a lovely experience! Ask for a tour of the place, as it is fascinating. The rest of the historic building is under separate management, and worth a tour on another day, too.

We were on holidays in Montevideo, and in a sunny afternoon of December we walked by the restaurant façade. The fact that it was located in a charming museum instigated our curiosity and we returned in the evening for dinner. The door was wide open and we could see a lot of customers and amusement with strong music inside. I... More

It was a decision that came to me after touring the Castillo Pittamiglio with my husband on a bright Montevideo day. I will write about that castle tour in another post, but to tell the tale of this castle restaurant experience, you need to close your eyes and envision a castle from the fairy tale books of your youth. You... More

Quite a new experience, dining in an old castle. The scenery is very beautiful, the only thing that is out of place is a wide-screen television. Food is delicious and there is plenty of choice for everyone (pasta, meet, fish etc.). Definitely my best restaurant-experience in Montevideo. Would recommend anyone to go there.

We originally thought this restaurant was closed because the map location is off by one block. The restaurant is actually in the block south of 21 September. The atmosphere in the castle takes you outside the hustle & bustle of the Montevideo streets. There are many private dining areas, that if you have either a romantic get-away or a group... More

Exploring the Pocitos area we stumbled upon a museum/restaurant located in the Victorian Castillo Pittamiglio. The castle was built and designed by the architect/alchemist Pittamiglio. The main museum entrance on the Rambla Gandi is appointed with a sculptured ship's bow jutting over the sidewalk, however the restaurant entrance is on the block behind, off Francisco Vidal. The restaurant's Maitre'd Raphael offers... More
