Combination of sofistication and kindness

I have the chance of dining at Francis some time ago, and let me tell you that meals tasted awesome. At the same time, Francis‘ owners were taking care of details, with a friendly touch. It‘s not usual to attend to a fine restaurant while, at the same time, almost feeling at home.

If my stay in Montevideo were extended I would definitely go back. My wife and I enjoyed our sushi and paella entrees. The staff was attentive and friendly. A bit pricey, just so you know.

I went to this place with a business partner and the restaurant overall looks good so we get in and took 10 minutes until a waitress showed up. I ordered the camarones al ajillo (Gralic Shrimp) and the order took more than 40 minutes to come to the table. The service was poor the waitress looked that she was unhappy... More

Very nice spot in Montevideo. Excellent food, fine, yet abundant. You will have a somellier come to your table and help you chose the right wine. The selection of food is wide going from sushi to lamb and excellent pasta too. All served in a very fancy gourmet way. A reservation is needed especially on weekends. The cost... a little... More

Service stood out here. The food was also great, but that's what is expected given the reputation of this place. Sommelier - Lengthy wine list with good Uruguayan options (so-so Argentine options). Our first choice was sold out. Second choice the sommelier actually told us wasn't so great anymore, as it was over-aged, but she went to the cellar and... More

Enjoyed dinner here on a Monday night based on the recommendation of our hotel. A welcoming spot with good service. While the food was nicely presented, it was under-seasoned and not as favorable as it might have been. In fact I sent back my pasta dish and order a salad in its place. The staff was very concerned that I... More

Our hotel reception recommend this place and we visited Feb 28 evening. The foods are great, waiters are nice and friendly and clean place. I have to tell only one thing, waiters should be more informative about food, because we are muslim and we do not eat pork and one of our order seems like beef but we understood it... More

This is probably the worst review I have ever written for a restaurant, only because of the food. Which was inedible due to the salt content. We should have sent back both the appetizer (chipirones) and main course (sorrentinos), but we could tell the underlying flavor was probably awesome, and our minds were fogged by the admittedly drinkable Negroni cocktails...
