Genius chef delivers brilliant meal, wine, ambience

Chef Gabriel Coquel is a chemical engineer by training who works a special alchemy with food. The "secret ingredient" in his amuse bouche, a simple gazpacho, is cantaloupe, he tells us. In the extraordinary salad, the vinaigrette of oil, vinegar, mustard and honey is given extra depth with an infusion of strawberry. This is a flawless restaurant, run by a... More

This was my favorite meal in South America from start to finish. Let me start by saying that I speak minimal spanish and the server spoke very good english. I had a hard time deciding on my selections. The server gave me her opinions on which items to order and I was not disappointed. I ordered the Deconstructed Spanish Tortilla... More

The restaurant is small but with a good atmosphere. The service is amazing and the chef gives you his welcome to the house. We ate crab crepe that was pretty good but we dont like cilandro and there it was and the another plate was lamb with vegetables.

It deserves the prize of best Montevideo restaurant. Even though we haven't had the chance to visit so many others, it is hard to imagine where you are going to get a better meal. Service is great also and price is not so higher than many other options there.

Tradución abajo... My dad and I went to Tandory for my birthday. The people were really friendly. I never tried lamb so I asked for Entrecot de Cordero (lamb). It was great! I really enjoyed it. The Chef came out to explain a few things about the meal to us and to talk. If I could give points for the... More

Amazing! I can't say enough good things. The food was so creative and flavorful. Food you really can't have anywhere else. The menu is on an ipad so you get to see pictures of what the dishes look like and they don't compare to the real thing. Just amazing balance in each dish and so much creativity from the chef.... We decided to go to Tandory for our last night in Montevideo as it was ranked as number 1 among all the other restaurants in the city according to Tripadvisor. And it was an excellent decision, because after a half a year in Montevideo I can say that Tandory is a great place when it comes to healthy and very... More

Our entire experience was 5 star, the service, the fresh, delicious food, the wine recommendations, the interior design and lighting, and even meeting the world-famous chef. Bravo!
