The goods: - Beautiful view. Actually, this depends on where you sit. You can either get an excellent view of the back of peoples' heads, or a nice view of the ocean. Choose wisely. - Friendly service. The man who were serving us was very attentive, spoke English, and was extremely friendly. In fact, this is one of the very... More

This a very well situated restaurant (tea house) sitting over the Rio de la Plata and with one of the most exclusive views of the sun setting over Montevideo. You may just want to stop outside and enjoy the view, as the service itself is terrible. Slow, expensive, low quality, waiters are not trained. You don´t want to spend your... More

We are from the area, and went here to eat a late lunch after spending a couple of days. Unknown to us, IVA or VAT is not included in the price of dishes, although EVERY OTHER restaurant in the region includes IVA in their prices. The food came microwaved, overcooked and nothing a box mix couldn't improve upon. Then the... More

Very cozy restaurant. Great atmosphere and ambiance. Attentive service. The clericot is to die for and so are the desserts. Dine with the great view of the Plata river.

The view is perfect but the service and the food is terrible. We decided our dish and after 30 min they came to advise that there was not fish any more. Then after 30 min more they told us that they didnt have the wine that we had chosen. After 1hour they served some bread....after 1.40 minutes they came with... More

We ate a "picarita", drank some beer and wine. The service was a bit slow, given there were a lot waiting on tables but only five tables were occupied. However, the staff were friendly and approachable. The food was just average and the prices high. I think you are paying for the view - which is well worth a sunset.... More

Hemingway is well known for its location and view. Food is amazing, one of the best fish I ever had! Clericot is exceptional. Make sure you have reservations.

...and forget the rest! There is a great gap between the decorum and the food, so if you want to enjoy the view, go before dinner and have a drink...!

Go for the view - wonderful to be there at sunset. Probably worth it for the view as the food was OK but not as good as other places.
