Do not miss the pasta variety in this big restaurant we tried lasagne with seafood, fathers tried the seafood cake and chicken . They have big helpings so if you are not that hungry just go for entrees . The service is good but we found it quite expensive even if they made us a discount when we paid with... More

People In Uruguay eat dinner late 9 to 11 pm or even later. I got to this charming restaurant on the water and it was still quite empty at 8:45 pm. I started with the Calamari appetizer which was awesomely delicious. For my Main course I had the filet of Sole Provencal. The plate was presented so beautifully I took... More

El viejo y el mar was recommended to me. When I saw the pictures on their facebook page I was instantly sold. The reality is somewhat different. Once of the worst meals I´ve eaten, poor quality and very overpriced. The restaurant itself is weather beaten given it´s location by the water and could do with some TLC. Definitely won´t go... More

Just another "parrilla" in Montevideo. The meat was good, but a little bit rare. The waiter was simpatic and professional. The informal environment and the location were the "hot point". Too expensive fir the same as always.

Just had dinner. Had the sole with black butter and capers. Also had morcilla which was unusually sweet with a choclatety flavor and texture. I was pleasantly surprised as the food was excellent. Mauricio was a good waiter.

Mostly locals, almost zero tourists. Location is fantastic, on a tiny oasis between Rambla and Plata, gorgeous scenic view. That's what it is worth here. Food: very "meh", average, unpretentious. Service: slow and way less attentious than the usual, below uruguayan standard. Had to walk to the waiter after waiting for as almost 15 minutes. Twice. Food arrives only a... More

On a beautiful day as today, sitting outside under the giant rubber tree was the perfect place for us to eat a late lunch. Both of us Texans were brave and tried the paella. Best shrimp I ever ate, and that says a lot since I've always thought shrimp was overrated. The other seafood bites were yummy, too. A bit... More

The restaurant has a nice garden with palms and other trees so sun is no problem. Tables are distant. Service is great. Food has very good taste. No hurry so you enjoy the time. If it is wendy or it rains or it is cold, the restaurant has an interior large place. Price is worth.

The restaurant is verry cute and has many different options of ambiance! You can sit inside and hide from the heat, in a very pleasant glass surrounded room, or in the garden. I highly recommend the garden where there are very cute red tables and you can smell the river's air! As for the food we asked for the shrimp... More
